Question Transmission/Differential Mounts - Worth It?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
For those of you with the transmission and/or differential mounts, do you think they're worth it? If so, do I get all three sets? I don't find the drivetrain to particularly sloppy with the way I currently drive, but I'm all for wasting some money when I have the opportunity!

    Transmission/Differential Mounts - Worth It?

    Haha. Dude. Do it.
I didn't think it was sloppy either and then after they were installed(I bought the kit) it felt more cohesive. Worth it. I had it in my DSG golf R and it made a difference there also.

Speaking of which, I just bought the rear subframe mounts a few minutes ago (among other things )

    Do it

Good question riceboy. Despite this being a good upgrade on past manual tranny cars, I didn't think my 3.0T was sloppy when stock. Stage 1 tune brought out a touch of sloppiness at times, but I still didn't bother. About 2 weeks in to Stage 2 now, and I'm feeling like this is a must do (and I'm hoping it settles things down!). I was going to start w/the 034 trans mount insert and go from there. Looking for suggestions too

I decided to start with the transmission mount and see how that goes. Arjun mentioned he felt noticeable NVH added with the differential mounts, so I'm going to hold off on those and see how much difference the transmission mount alone makes first.

you could do with ecs which have polyurethane insert to minimize road noise.

Transmission mount is definitely worth it and a noticeable difference in 1-2-1 shifts. For anyone looking for it and the other 034 inserts ECS Tuning has the best price and free shipping going on now (I just bought them )

So worth it! The best money you'll spend for feel. I've bought all offered 034 mounts for the last 4 vehicles. Great org too.

Mops, do you offer the 034 inserts? Or am I better off going though ECS?

I'm thinking of just ordering the whole drivetrain mounts insert package and being done with it. I want to tighten everything up.

Anything else I should be getting for the suspension while I'm at it? Like the no-brainer must have stuff.

+1 for 034 mounts, had 034 tranny mount and Apikol rear diff mount (red) on by 6mt a4 that i switched over and then added the 034 diff carrier mounts. nice and crisp

thanks for sharing masemoto, went ahead and bought the 034 trans mount via ECS but i accidently sent it to an old address lol. contacted them and hopefully it gets fixed before they mail it out (thanks mops)

it would have been a few $ cheaper to order the eurocode mount (even with their ridiculously inflated shipping cost) but i didn't order for that reason alone.

I won't do the ecs mounts, I did and I wish I had done the 034 mounts and now that their in I've tried to remove and and its a no go. The problem is their large retaining washer that pushes the insert into the bushing, the inside portion of the washer will hit the metal part of the bearing and will make a "clunking" noise. Could be I over tighten but I don't believe so. Go 034 or don't do it, I've used lots of their parts on my Golf r and they're the best value out there. I've also used ecs in the past and they've been just fine, could be just this part.

first bad review about this poly insert. Wondering if other felt the same ?

I rock the ecs insert for the diff and 034 for the tranny and I do hear a clunk, but it was said that it was my sway bar end link. If I still hear clunck after swapping the end link, I might look at the diff mount then !
