    Adding Steering Wheel Paddles

My car did not come with steering wheel paddles but I would like to add them. I want to confirm that all I need is a new steering wheel w/ paddles and then add via Vag Com? Is this correct?

I don't want to buy a wheel then find out I can't do it.

You are correct. I did that and it worked great. My friend did the Vag change. It's a great mod

I have brand new paddle shifters - PM if interested. I swapped out my S6 wheel for a new one off eBay. I kept the original paddles as they are aluminum-look (new ones were black).

Edit: Sorry, not sure if you have the opening in the back to screw in the paddles, if not, you'll need a new wheel as you stated.

Thanks man, unfortunately I need a whole new wheel. I will have to sell this flat bottom I just purchased.

I bought a 4 spoke with paddle shifters and heat from eBay.de from an A8, the shifters work and the drive select button works, but no heated wheel. I also bought a 3 spoke non heated wheel with shifters, but cannot find a matching airbag.

Sorry to pull up a semi-stale thread, but I am thinking of retrofitting a 4-spoke steering wheel out of an A8.....DurfA4-Did you ever get the heated wheel working? (Did you have the cold weather package originally?) Also did your existing airbag transfer to the A8 wheel?

I have the heated 4-spoke currently, and I would like to add shift paddles and retain heat, but it's not worth the $1k+ price tag for a 3-spoke wheel and matching airbag....

Are they still available and do you have any pictures on those?

I have a heated, S6 3-spoke steering wheel with aluminum paddles if someone is interested in purchasing. You'd just have to get an airbag which was pretty easy for me. I Had a heated 4-spoke to start. PM me.
Do it right, or don't bother.

Posted in another thread: go to steering wheel module, then byte 2 and check bit 5. I dont think there is any description in the check boxes.
