Hi guys! I have encountered this strange problem and done some research but I couldn't find any solutions.

A few days ago when I was driving on a highway, suddenly the radio sound just decreased and eventually went to silence. I didn't touch any button but it just did this by itself! I tried to manually raise the volume but it automatically decreased and went to silence again.

The radio itself functioned properly that I was able to switch to radio, CDs, and SD card. It even displayed the name of the song but just no sound caming out. However after I restarted the radio several times it was back to normal.

The strange part was it has never happened when I was driving in the city. I thought it was a problem with GALA as it only happened at a speed over 70mph on a highway. But I turned GALA off yet it didn't make a difference.

Do any of you have had the similar problem before? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

    Thank you!

*I have Audi Concert, not MMI.

First thing I thought of was, the fault may be coming from the jog dial on the steering wheel. Dirty?

The jog dial was not dirty. And it worked just fine when I was driving in the city.

My car does this too. I think it's some sort of static suppression when you drive out of a stations range
