    Stasis Exhaust Issue

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Guys, I think I'm going nuts, but I'm looking for anyone who has experience with adjusting the Stasis Touring / Challenge exhaust setup on a b8.5.

I installed the system a few weeks ago. And it seemed that the driver's side just keeps loosening up and the intermediate pipe rotates and then sags, which twists the muffler section obviously.

I've gone step by step with the Stasis install guide, and kept getting the same result.

To boot, the passenger side tips seem to set out (further back) about 1/2" than the driver side.

I'm wondering, has anyone ever seen the supplied clamps, get...weak? or am I crazy? I've installed my own exhausts for some time, but i'm kind of baffled.

After the 3rd time I adjusted it, it seemed to hold better, but noticed yesterday that it's working it's way out of whack again.

    Any suggestions are welcome!

Set it up where you like it and then tack weld the joints.

Had gone this route the first few times, last night i used a jack and some jack stands to center and support the intermediate pipes. It's weird that the Stasis install doc only calls for 17 ft/lb.

We'll see how it holds this time.

This also might end up happening.

same exact issue i've had since day one with this exhaust. spent probably 3-4 hours adjusting it with no real luck. i feel like the bracket connecting the 2 mufflers is welded on backwards and results in the misalignment.

How long have you had it? and how often do you have to adjust it?

I've had it 1.5 years / ~ 10k miles if I had to guess. The initial alignment took 3 hours. I've fiddled with it multiple times with no real success. One annoyance is that the nice laser cut stasis brackets have had weld failure 3 times now, which results in an annoying buzzing sound until I get it tacked back on. Also 2 of the nuts that hold on the tip inserts have broken welds, which requires a wrench inside between the 2 tips to remove.

Bummer, man. I took the inserts out. Just seemed like a hassle.

I've found the perfect "summer" setup is with 2 inserts in. I put the other 2 in during the winter when i dont want to sound like a complete ass in the neighborhood :D
