Where do these parts go? Bracket and heat shield

I'm' having trouble remembering where these parts go. One is a plastic bracket related to the radiator fan wiring harness, and the other is a heat shield boot with no part #:

I just looked at my car's engine bay and I realized that I don't have the same P/N as you for this part,(I have 4B0 971 845 S)
Weird that my part is from the 4B platform(C5) instead of 8E(B6)

The bracket circled in red seems to be the right location for your part(the 2 tabs slide in and the bottom clip secures the bracket in place)

Here's the exact part as in the picture (look at the back , it's made like yours, except its a large rectangle plate) https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...et/4b0971845s/
Hope this helps (sorry for the giant pic)

Excellent! Thanks for that - the parts diagram doesn't show it in relation to its positioning so this is very helpful. Turns out that the engine in my wife's car is also not original (or fully original). The car is 2004 but the engine has the plastic valve covers and the dark grey intake manifold. It'd be great to know what the engine serial # was supposed to be for it.
I'm installing the lock carrier today so may even get to the point of starting it - it's only been 18 months... : )

Spoke too soon : ) Discovered that I don't have the passenger side aux radiator scoop so that's coming on Tuesday. Won't bother installing the lock carrier etc. and starting it because then I'd have to drain the coolant etc. again to remove the carrier - oh well, a couple more days isn't going to make any difference. Should probably spend some time cleaning the dust and spiders out of the interior....
