    Engine Compatibility by VIN?

    All,

    Been looking for replacement engine for my B6 S4.

    I have seen similar looking 4.2L on ebay and they state that they are compatible with vehicles if 5th digit of VIN is L. Anyone ever heard this ?

    Is know an Audi Engine Code thread exists, but link seems broken at this point. Is there a table listing the what the differences in Engine Codes are ? BHF vs, BBK vs...

    This may help others, I replaced my BBK engine with a BHF unit and it was straigt forward apart from the fuel rail that feeds the injectors, so I used the rail from the BBK.

    I highly recommend the Accusump that you will see there too.

    I also have another set of headers, I had a few converted as they were such a great mod.
