Another exhaust question, but yea :D

Hey guys! I want to ask regarding exhaust for my Audi A5 2.0T. I know the choice of aggressive sounding exhaust for the 2.0T is quite limited. I have stumbled upon a valvetronic exhaust as my friend has one installed on his 1.8T A4. When the valves are open, it sounds ridiculously aggressive and loud. However, I have been eyeing the AWE Tuning Touring edition exhaust.

I want to ask, if I were to get the valvetronic exhaust, is it reliable in the long run? (taking into consideration that I might tune my car to stage 2 and stuffs)

I know people who uses the AWE Tuning exhaust and tune their car to stage 2, they will have to change the downpipe, HFC etc all those.

Which do you guys recommend/advice me to get ? Thank you for your infos!

I would get the Awe touring exhaust. I'm only on a APR stage 1 flash as I have to deal with emissions.

The exhaust is very quiet until I floor it. Even then it's still pretty quiet which is fine... I don't want to sound like I'm racing when I'm driving a little aggressive.

You will also need to change your cat out for a test pipe or HFC if you decide to go stage 2.

Same here I'm on stage II APR. With AWE exhaust, With APR HFC and downpipe I couldn't be happier with the sound. Just to let you know if you decide to go AWE exhaust when you first put it on it is fairly close to stock sound at idle. It takes a few hundred miles to break in and it will definatly get louder. Enough that people realize there is an exhaust on the car when you start it now.

thanks all for your reply. If i get a quad exhaust from AWE right, and its loud after the break in period, but does it sound nice and sporty given that it is just an A5 with quad exhaust? will it be lame to have quad exhaust but the sound is not as aggressive as those like the s5 and others.

Yes it will sound very sporty. These cars with the right exhaust sound great in my opinion. And the AWE is just the right sound. It doesn't sound like your typical ricer 4 banger it actually sounds more like a bigger engine more like a v6. Trust me I am extremely picky about how my exhaust sounds I researched for months on the exhaust for my car and went back and forth. Finally purchased the AWE and couldn't be any happier.

Okay thank you. Do you have any videos so I can listen to your exhaust note? The videos i listen from youtube dont justify the sportiness sound. To me, it sounds kinda empty, like something is going through a big hollow pipe.

Also, how about custom made exhaust? A few of my friends have custom made exhuast on their A3s and they sound more aggressive than the AWE touring ones I listen from youtube.

Let me try and get some better video. Every time I try the audio does not do the exhaust justice.
