Wiring into my passenger fuse box

I just recently got a dash cam, and I'm thinking of wiring it directly into the fuse box. Instead of buying the OEM dashcam power -> fuse box connector (which I can't even find), I'm just going to convert the cigarette lighter into wiring that I can connect to the fuse box.

I have already done the bluetooth audio mod so I have a fuse tap in my passenger side already, see the attached picture. That tap has two slots for fuses (only one is currently in use).

Can I put a fuse tap on a fuse tap? Also, since its a 12v cigarette lighter plug, I don't need to convert any of the power do I? I think I should be able to wire that directly to the fuse.

    Can I use this? http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/au...4560p.html#srp

Here is a picture of my fuse box : http://i.imgur.com/HrEbco9.jpg

    Thanks!

You could use that, but you're going to have to tap into a fuse that turns off while the car is off so that it doesn't kill the battery.
I don't know what dash cam you have but I have a BlackVue and purchased something called the Power Magic, which is made for our cars for the dashcam. It runs 24/7 and monitors the battery level, if it drops below 11.8V it automatically shuts off the Dashcam. Pretty cool to have it running all the time, parked or driving, without having to worry about the battery dying.

Having gone through two PowerMagic Pros, I got a Vico-Power Plus. Much more configurable plus a display of values. No DIP switches.

The problem with fuse taps here is that there just isn't room for them if you want to keep the clip in place. I just wrap the wire end around the fuse and push it in. Works. Ground is the bolt in the back of that fuse area (on the firewall.)

Thanks for the tips Vaks and Holmes4. My dashcam has the ability to sense when the voltage is too low and turn off. Although now I'm beginning to wonder if it requires the OEM dashcam power kit to do that.
