I just blew coils 1 and 4 after replacing both less than 3 months the ago(and the car has been sitting for the last 3 weeks). Wondering if I should be looking at anything other than the wiring? Spark plug torque maybe? I have a couple of broken connectors but they are all secure.

Any oil in there when you have the coils pulled?

A little on those 2 coil packs, 2 and 3 are dry. I swapped the VCG in Aug.

Did you change the spark plug seal in the middle? Either way, it needs done again if oil is getting in there.

Did you torque the VC down to spec of 10nm? I found that when I was tightening it by feel and then decided to torque to spec to see how close I was, I wasn't tightening the nuts nearly enough.

Yep, torqued it when installing. I've forgotten to do that in the past so made sure to do it this time.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that but that's something to consider.

Plugs should be NGK platinum and we're changed about 15k ago. I have another set to swap in, just haven't had a chance. Car was running great until I parked it. Came back a couple of weeks later and had the misfires and oil in plug wells.

Loosening and RE-torquing the valve cover worth trying? Is there a correct order to torque? I did what I considered a star but not sure if there is a definite order.

There is a correct order. It's inside to outside. I'm on my phone or I'd look it up. Torque spec is more important. 10 Nm.
