130k, just stared leaking oil underneath b6 s4

Well last night I noticed I lost more than a quart
    My car doesn't burn oil (b6 s4)

I put some cardboard underneath the car for a half hour to see if it was leaking oil. And yup it's dripping pretty bad.

My valve covers were always leaky but it was like a sweaty leak and I never lost any oil.

Any idea what the culprit could be?

    Stressed out.

First thing id check those half moon rubber things on valve covers. Never remember how they are called but They like to pop out and then youll loose the oil.

oil cooler orings were my main culprit. between the cooler and block.

pretty sure my oil pan is sweating at the seams a little but the oil cooler was leaving all the drips.

Have you gotten under and looked? Where is the drip at generally? Is the top or front of engine covered in oil or just the bottom? If top/front is wet then probably valley pan gasket and or oil filter housing. If back of engine could be oil sensor. Valve covers could cause it anywhere depending on where on the cover is leaking. If it's just the bottom then oil cooler or dipstick oring or oil pan itself are the primary troublemakers.

my culprit that I thought was my oil pan, was actually a power steering line that finally crapped out, I mean I still have an oil leak from the pan gasket but that is another battle.

I have both problems ! Putting a steering rack in it this weekend. Already had both lines replaced last year which was $1000 alone !

This car is becoming more expensive but I don't think I could let her go. It's one of the few that doesn't burn oil and has been looked after it's whole life and only driven in the summer. (Rust free is hard to find in these parts).

Found mine online, sellers didn't tell me it had been sitting on a Texas auction yard for 2 years. made it look all pretty for me, wasn't able to get an inspection done on it, lesson learned there. my next Audi was fully inspected and approved.. my Allroad only needed to have a cam position sensor replaced, took me all of 10 minutes and had to replace 1 bad coil pack.
