Pics of your winter wheels setup

I picked up some Pirelli Scorpion Snow&Ice 235/60/18 and a set of A5/S5 wheels.

Wheel specs: 18"x8" ET31

Typically the Q5 18" wheels are ET39 so I digging the extra 8MM poke these wheels have.

Calipers clear, but barely, maybe a 1 or 2 MM.

Here are a few pics I took out in the wild this morning.

That's a nice setup Jose. Did you have someone in NJ powdercoat them? I'm looking to run a similar winter setup as soon as I get the summer rubber on my 21s sold!

Yes Riceboy. I've been going to ACR Powder Coating for years! Chip the owner is awesome at what he does. Truly takes pride in his work. They are located in Cream Ridge, NJ.

Cool thanks! It looks like they do great work. I've only had experience with Espo's, but this would be much more convenient for me.

BTW you're running the Pirelli snows right? How are they in the dry? I'm still debating whether a dedicated winter setup with the 21s is worth it in NY/NJ.

Yes, running the Pirelli Snows. A little loud, but no matter what you buy you will have some sound coming from them. I cumute into NYC and North Jersey everyday so I run dedicated summers and winters. I ran Blizzaks on my X5M and those were loud also.

I've found the Pirelli scorpion snows to be decent. This will be my second winter on them. 275 40 20.

I agree, but there is going to be some sound coming from them. I stretched them out today doing 85/90 mph and it went well. So far I'm happy. You figure you have winter tires on in NNJ/NYC for 3/4 months out of the year.

I ran these winter tires for 3 years in a 255/45/20 size. Commute from NYC to NJ everyday and never had any issues with them in the dry and snow. I think this will be the first time I'm going to try running A/S tires this winter. Figure if I'm not satisfied with the setup, I'll pick up dedicated winters again.

I ran scorpion's on my A3 for 2 winters and they were great as far as a winter tire goes. Very compliant ride, but yeah, a bit more noise than summer's. Never bothered me at all though.

If anyone is interested I am selling 5 Pirelli Scorpion 255/45/20. 2 are like new 9/32s and 3 are 6/32s. I got them with the Q5 but I prefer having dedicated wheels/tires for winter so I went the 18" route.

Just installed mine tonight since they came today. 255/50/19 Blizzak DM-V2 with 19 x 8.5 Sport Edition ST7 wheels. Yes I know I could have gotten a better wheel but for how much salt they dump around here whatever wheel I would buy will get destroyed. I wanted to go more for the function instead of high end.

Who me? No, they bolted right on. I'm very happy with the profile they create. The alloy and paint are very soft though, just a heads up.

Type Two? Favorite board I've ridden in a while. So, so fun. Don't be too envious of Mammoth right now though. Pretty bunk so far.

Yep. That's great to hear. It's my first with asymmetrical sidecut so I'm definitely looking forward to ripping it. Here's the full resort kit for this season, lol. I heard Mammoth was about to get a couple feet in the next 2 days.

I'm in Chicago and same thought, hard to get excited about too nice of a rim given the amount of salt that gets used here!

N3MO awesome looking winter setup. I am in the midst of waiting for some Klasse GT4 Gloss Black/Nokian Hakkapellita 8 studded tires to arrive in 2 weeks. I'm almost a bit jealous....
