    A sad sad day ...

The time has come to say good bye. Without a doubt the best car I have ever owned. Sadly an accident last year killed my equity in the car and it makes no sense to buy it out financially. So today I got her back from the body shop with all my carbon goodies in the trunk. Tomorrow she goes in for 3 days of surgery to have her neutered, all the performance gear is coming out next. Then next week a day in the audio shop will pull the interior stuff and shes ready to hand back to Audi. I will drive my Q7 and mourn for a while before figuring out what to do next.

And the first week I had her back in 2013 :

Thankfully the vultures were fast and furious so all I have remaining of the carcass now is the sub/amp/box combo and the summer Vorsteiner 20" wheels if anyone is interested.

Its been a blast, 16 years and 5 Audis. What comes next who knows.

Sad to see... Still wish the dealer could have worked something out.

Eh so you're upside down on it. It's still a beautiful car. Drive her for who she is not necessarily for how much she's worth...

    Exactly this.
    Cars depreciate daily.
If you love it - if it's the best car you've ever owned - if you have a TON of aftermarket parts on it that you now have to pay to remove and then sell (PITA not to mention you are going to loose even more on those) then enjoy it.
How much equity loss do you think the accident caused?

Well a $16,000 accident and a $9,000 break in (Cdn $) and dealers usually drop a cars value by half the value, so I lost a ton of equity. And buyers do worse math, the older the car gets the more it depreciates, yet the accident will still be assessed at its full value. Just isn't worth it when I have the walk away option of a lease.

    ^^ ah - Lease. Yes.
You could extend your lease though couldn't you? I've never leased so don't really know how that game plays... especially with modding a leased car then having to remove all mods and figure out what to do with them all.. Guessing you were planning on buying out the car with all the mods?
    Either way. P car maybe???

yeah it was the plan to buy her out. The vultures were sharp and almost everything is sold already as far as aftermarket parts. Who knows what's next, P car is high on the list, looking forward to driving their new turbo motors

It's a shame, she's a beautiful car. Things will get better one day and you'll end up with something superior. I know as I had a serious accident back in 2013. I'm still off work recovering. I sold my S4 and moved to an S3. Anyway, life goes on

    Ooooof what a beautiful car.
Sad to see her go but with the tasteful mods you did to her I can't wait to see what's up next.

Got wheels and stereo left ! PM replied.

Next, drive my Q7 for a bit, gonna get some 22's for her. Next year if I can hold out I will see the new R8 v6tt and the new RS5 and drive the new turbo 6 motor in the 911. Who knows. Gotta find something I fit in (6'5") and really love first.

Well said! I love these cars . dog shit resale or not. I rather lose my pants on Audi ownership . Life is simply too short to drive a fucking Camry.
