For sale is a 6-speed manual transmission from a 2005 Audi A4 3.0 V6 with 115k miles.
The transmission code is GJV and was used in 2004 and 2005 v6 Audi a4's
Based on my research this should fit in any B6 generation Audi, the only change will be slightly different gear ratios.
The transmission displays a speed dependent bearing noise that changes in pitch between acceleration and deceleration. A competent mechanic, some friends, and myself all believe a defective pinion bearing in the front differential is the cause of the noise. Aside from the bearing noise the gearshift is extremely smooth. Service records show the fluid has been flushed at 40k mile intervals.
A 115k mile Audi GJV transmission normally sells for close to $1000.
The defective pinion bearing is replaceable, so you could rebuild this.
Also included is a good condition dual mass flywheel.
Asking $150 OBO
