I finally convinced my wife to buy her own Audi

After ten years of owning her MINI Cooper S, 6mt, royal grey she grew weary of the drone and busy-ness aspects of it. The novelty had worn off and she wanted something nice and quiet. She kept threatening to steal my A7, and my me drive the old allroad. Her mini was done and the A7 is mine so we went shopping.

She drove New off the lot Lincolns and the Infiniti QX50, and a used 3.0t Q5. Well obviously she liked the Q5 the best, and then said find a CPO with under 30k miles.

So I took to the interwebs and found her the Q5 I would want. She agreed and drove it, said this is everything I want. It was the easiest sale the Audi dealer had that day.

She won't let me mod it, and I haven't found anything I feel I WANT to change. I really love the Q5, it is almost perfect.
I will find some snow tires, and then have to paint the wheels like i did the A7 snow tires, matte clear over graphite.

Lookin good Durf! As I said, that Q5 is my wifes dream ride.
The A7 is lookin mighty good as well. Perfect choice of wheels. I've thought about the same style for the AR. You've got quite the supercharged stable. Do you miss the allroad at all?

I do miss my stage 3 allroad, but I still have one left. The allroad feels very crude in comparison to the Q5. The Q doesn't wallow in corners and sounds better on first start. The drive select is not as dramatic change in suspension ride as the ride height adjustment on the allroad.

Basically, I've had an allroad since 2009. I needed to move on, well she needed a car that could fit all of us and we could road trip with out carrying cool packs and a VagCom. I wanted a warranty for her. I believe 3.0T is a much better engine than the 2.0t for longevity (Hopefully). In the Q5 it is de-tuned and will still provide 5.9 0-60, not that it matters but it's plenty fast without stressing the engine, trans or tires.

I'll miss the ease of the 2.7t until I drop the Q5 off for warranty and pay the $85 copay at 87k miles for name the item.

The allroads were fun, the TT was a blast, and the A4s are just A5s with four doors.

So in the end, we took the two spiritual successors to the allroad. Q5 for the utility and some sport, and the A7 for the sport with some utility. They both are unique and instantly recognizable. We are happy.

I love the color choice. Coming from the guy who has to wash her car just for it to be cleaned. That color delays how many times I have to clean haha!!

Thanks, for all the comments, she has good taste. I only showed her a select few Q5 and this one was the nicest.

I just installed the FreedomPop Sim card. 3g@ 3mps download @ 200mb a month for free is decent and about all the system can use.

Ill get the VIM shortly. for the little guy to watch. I have an MMI A/V cord and ill use the iPod Classic for movies

Any other decent VAG-COM Tweaks. that are worth while?
Does ECONOMY mode actually work?

No exhaust, intake or TD1 mods allowed. I have a Chipwerks Pro for the A7, but I may go with EPL's sale for a that car.

Congrats to your wife, very nice choice! I myself just picked up a CPO 2016 SQ5, same color as hers. We are the lucky ones!
