    Supercharger service intervals B8.5

Got the best reply ever when I asked an Audi technician today what is the service interval on the 3.0T.... "Sir, its a non serviceable item filled with lifetime oil".

Great!!! So now I want some of the 'lifetime oil' for my tranny, the diff, and while were at it, lets get some for the engine as well...

Anybody know the Audi part nr's for the respective 'lifetime' oils...

Technically he's right. That's what Audi indicates, although they do sell the oil. But officially there is no service schedule for it since Eaton probably dictated that to them. If it's 100-150k miles good, that might as well be called lifetime by a manufacturer.

My wife had a Mini Cooper with the Eaton supercharger that claimed it was "lifetime" as well.

GM used the same m45 supercharger and had a replacement oil at 80k. But... the oils causes cancer in the state of California and is labeled as hazmat, so the Europeans basically decided instead of dealing with hazmat they would let the supercharger fail outside of warranty.

    IMO

Maybe I'm wrong but it's all about dollars and euros and profitability.

I think the pulley is supposed to be changed though? Or there's something about a belt in the maintenance schedule. Don't have it handy.

It's a check and replace belt if necessary IIRC.

I'll probably change my SC oil around 60k.

Here's a thread response from ECS Tuning and the approved Audi Oil for the Supercharger.
Current: 2016 S5 in Sepang Blue with Technik Package.
