    2006 2.0T Quattro Automatic swap into a 2004 1.8T CVT Automatic?

Just for kicks, is it possible to swap auto transmissions from a 2006 2.0T Quattro Automatic donor car, into a 2004 1.8T CVT FrontTrack Automatic?

    What all would be involved?

Is it worth doing? I'd say no.

He's just talking about the transmission guys.

Yes, It'll bolt up. Will it work? No idea. The issue being you would have to swap the TCU and somehow get the 1.8t ECU to understand that its a 6-speed transmission. I'm not sure how that would work, or if its even possible.

And as others said, the 1.8t and 2.0t use COMPLETELY different fueling systems so swapping the ECUs (even after coding out the IMMO and swapping clusters) would just result in a no-start situation until you figured out how to simulate all the sensors that aren't present and would be impossible to swap into a 1.8t.

Honestly you're better off swapping the whole drivetrain, fuel system and electronics from the 2.0t but that alone is a shitton of work.

Now if the 6-speed tip can talk to the 5-speed ecu just fine then its all a moot point, but thats the issue...

Cool thanks, was not looking to move on this, was just asking if it was possible as i saw a local 2.0T being parted out with the Quattro tranny. Looks like its not a straight swap.

TCU is in the transmission on the B7, so you would need to do some major rewiring, if the TCU worked with the B6 body at all.
Never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
