2017 VIM and HDMI -- is it possible?

Just purchased a 2017. Would like to add VIM and an HDMI port as others have done on the earlier MMI revisions.

Problem is, the '17 has two USB ports and no AMI port. I've seen others run an AMI to RCA into an adapter with HDMI ports on their '16s and earlier.

How can we replicate this on the '17s? I am very computer literate so if VIM is a change we can make with a VAG cable, with proper instructions isn't something I'm weary of doing...

Additionally, I've purchased a USB - HDMI cable off Amazon, and will report on the results pre-VIM.

Good question, if your USB to HDMI cable doesn't work, might be out of luck. That's only if there is an AMI port still on the back of the mmi2.

Just through AMI. The USB might work, but never seen this solution work. There are third party solutions however, but not sure if they work on FL cars.

    USB - HDMI didn't work.

At least not with this cable:

Waiting on hearing about solutions from around the world!

I think USB is going to be a dead end, but if the dvd player can play videos, then there must be some solution.

Anyone brave enough to pull out their dvd player and see what the connection looks like?
