Just read through your whole post, and Bravo. Well done, and it's a gorgeous car. I was at Hyperfest at VIR a couple weeks ago and just wish I would have known what I could have gotten into. I plan on taking my car there this summer, provided I can get a weekend off.

I appreciate any information you can give me about how high your intake temperatures are getting now when you really romp on it and how is your a/c performance.

The Killer Chiller has been fairly good so far. There have been a few hiccups though. The fittings weren't properly tightened by the manufacturer, so I leaked out all the freon early on. Got that fixed and the track valve got stuck, which left me with no A/C and no cooling for the KC. Took out the valve and now it works perfectly. When I stop at a red light, it gets a bit warm in the car unless I rev it to around 1000 rpm. While driving, its ice cold. Loe just bought a case of a different type of freon, so when it comes in I'm going to try that. It should at lease make the coolant even colder.
We went to the track last Thursday and I logged one of my runs. With the KC on in the staging lanes I was seeing IATs around 31C. Temps were in the mid 50s for most of 3rf and 4 th gears with a very brief spike to 61 ( but then back down to 55). IATs would drop back to the low 30s within 5 minutes (about the time it took to get my slip and get back into the staging lanes). I even managed to beat my previous best time by .003 second. Not bad considering the conditions. The DA was just under 2000. I'd have easily knocked a tenth off that time if I had put my track wheels on. I was using the Vorsteiners with Michelin PSS and they wouldn't hook. Tons of wheel spin. But the point was to test the KC in shitty Florida heat and humidity. I'd say it performed quite well.
I can't recommend Crown Motorsports enough. Excellent shop. Let me know when you plan to come up this way and we can catch up.

Looking at your set up as I begin to work with mine (2013 6MT), a few questions if you could help:

Which short shifter would you think I should go with? Is the Linkage a must?

If I go H&R Sway bars front and rear, do you know if the Eurocode endlinks will fit? The endlinks seem so expensive relative to the sway bars, do they make a difference?

I'm probably going to be FBO eventually but it is my daily (have been stock for nearly 4 years), which clutch application do you think is best? I've seen your problems with JHM, what would you do if you had to start over ( and if it was a daily driver, although I usually avoid stop-and go traffic and I don't really mind more noise/hardness but obviously would prefer as close to OEM as possible)?

Lastly, I saw you do not recommend the KW coilovers, would you recommend the H&R coilovers? Winters get hectic in Canada so I have to go with coilovers so I raise it a bit in the Winter. Did you look at the PSS-10s? Or are they overkill if I'm never going to track?

I've probably asked too many questions LOL but since you seem so knowledgable would love the feedback! It's difficult coming to conclusions on this forum despite spending hours and hours researching everything.

    Thank you sir.
Thanks very much for taking the time to give me your impressions. That makes me feel more confident going this route. Time to try out 3.5 pulley ratios with ported blowers now once the cooling is sorted. Who's going to be first :) I'll let you guys know when I head over.

Short shifter... Mine is from Eurocode, but it's not been on their website for a while now. So it would appear that they no longer sell it. The ECS Tuning shifter seems to be a very similar design, but I have no first hand experience with it. ECS has some of the best customer service around, so perhaps give them a try. As for the linkage, it's not necessary for driving around town. I notice the difference on the track though. Definitely crisper shifts. If you decide to do the linkage, install it at the same time as the shifter. Aligning the shifter is a two person job and will require patience to line it all up correctly.

I would assume that the Eurocode endlinks will fit other sway bars. You have the ability to change just the bars, just the endlinks, or both. So I see no reason why you can't mix and match. I'm very happy with the Eurocode sways, so they would be my recommendation.

If you want the clutch feel to be close to OEM, stay away from anything like the JHM 5R clutch. I'd stay away from JHM completely. They have been nothing but problematic. They are the exact opposite of ECS, shit quality and even worse customer service. If I had to do it over again (I better not or I'll completely lose my shit) I'd probably try Eurocode, although I believe Sachs makes a good clutch.

I had considered a few different coilover setups before buying the KWs. If I were to replace mine I'd absolutely go with PSS10s. I did the KWs because at the time the car was my daily and I wanted the option of electronic damping control. There are some pretty crappy roads around me and if I want to go to Tampa (which I do like 3 times a week during hockey season), I have to go through some heavy construction. This system lets me change the damping on the fly. So when I'm coming up to an area that is bad, I can just hit a button and put it in comfort mode. It's no longer an issue since I have another car, so they have been set to the stiffest setting for the past year or so. The reason I don't like them is because the rear springs are too soft. Softer than stock. So the rear end is quite bouncy at times, especially when going from asphalt to concrete -like when entering/exiting a bridge- or over uneven expansion joints. That said, they have been perfectly fine on the track. I generally say that coilovers are a waste of money unless you plan to track the car or if you need to change ride height for different conditions. So if you feel you will need to raise the car for winter then coilovers may be a good option. I have no experience with driving in the snow and what conditions you will face, as I've only ever seen snow once in my 35 years.

I forgot to post this last week when it was done, but I installed a modified slave cylinder that I got from jbullin2. If you are having push to start issues, his solves the problem perfectly. The car starts on the first attempt every time now. Clutch take-up feels much better, and I have rev-matching back. Jae was great to work with. He shipped the part very fast and was quick to answer my PMs. If you have the push to start issue, contact Jae. I can't recommend this enough.

Thanks a lot for the reply, will take everything into consideration, guess JHM is off my radar. Not sure if Sachs will hold stage 2+ power fine so probably will end up going with Eurocode then. Again, your car looks amazing and is my inspiration, slowly but surely!!

Not sure if Eurocode's clutch kit is any better...

Jake @ JHM has been great with me with customer service. Seems like most of the problems I've heard are regarding their non-R series clutches. Got a 5R in it now that I daily drive and so far it's been fine. Had to get the longer slave cylinder rod, but everything feels fine now. I'm going to take it to the track soon, so we'll see how it does as I push it further and further.

Mine seems to work fine now with the longer slave rod. But I feel that JHM should have made sure that their clutch works with the OEM slave. And for me, their customer service has been beyond terrible. They don't respond to any of my emails. I that Jake was helping you, and he even said that he was passing my info along to someone that would get back in touch with me. Nothing. Crickets. I'm glad that they got your issues sorted out, but I've had the opposite experience with them.

Mine works perfect, then again, JHM installed it so maybe their master-techs know something that Crown does not.

Or perhaps there's a difference between the 3R that you have and my 5R.

This. The 3R IS different, even though they are using the same flywheel and pressure plate. My 3R install went off without a hitch. The 5R install gave me the push to start issue as soon as it was installed. The 5R doesn't have a Marcel spring, so it sits higher. Maybe that's why?

This whole S4 clutch thing is boggling everyone involved. Vendor and end user alike. Jake said they've never had a push to start issue when they performed the install and would like to see a case of this with their own eyes so they can have a crack at identifying the issue. I don't understand though... There's only so many things you can do differently on an install. There has to be some geometry inside the bellhousing that is causing this. The pressure plate has alignment holes, so it's not like you can just throw it on there and torque it down without seeing a problem. Everything gets installed flat/flush, so I'm not sure where you could go wrong installing these such that 1 instance you get a perfectly working clutch, and another you have all sorts of issues.

The R series pressure plate has no SAC mechanism in it, so thats no a contributing factor either. What a puzzle...

For those of you that have been following my build and know that I was having clutch problems, there is way more to the story.
I have kept it private, as I didn't want to turn it into a public fight. I preferred to let JHM do the right thing. That hasn't happened.

The whole story can be read here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t-buy-from-jhm

Son of a bitch!!! All my photos that I have posted on this forum are/were hosted by Photobucket. They now require you to pay a $300 per year subscription fee to do 3rd part hosting. They didn't even give any warning. I don't even know what photos I had posted and where. I'm too exhausted to deal with this now.
So what are my other hosting options? $300 a year is extremely excessive.

I'm not a fan of the tapatalk app. But maybe I'll download it just for uploading photos.

The real problem is that I don't know what pictures I had posted, and not just in this thread. It's going to take quite some time to repost everything.

We had that conversation at lunch one day. I just don't like the interface. I prefer the web version, even on my phone.

Guys we need to do a full Florida or North Florida get together with the Infamous Tampa group Just did a joint drive with Orlando group. Not as big as yours, but we're trying lol. Thinking maybe a North Florida FIRM Jacksonville\Central FLA\Tampa track day when it cools down, or even a simple get together.

Oh and posted this pic using Tapatalk mobile. I hated it at first, but once I got it figured out, works well, especially for pics. For long posts I'll even fire up my Bluetooth keyboard lol.

We absolutely need to do a North/Central Florida meetup. Maybe in a couple months when it cools down a little. This 95 degree heat with all the humidity is bullshit. Plus the daily monsoon doesn't help. I'm about to start the process for organizing another private drag strip rental at Bradenton Motorsports Park. But that'll be in January. We should plan a get together/drive before that.

As for tapatalk, I caved. I'm using it to re upload the pictures. I've started the process and have fixed some of the pictures in the main post. It's definitely easy to do. It's just going to take a little while since I have to click on the old link to see what picture it used to be, then find the picture on my phone and reupload it via tapatalk. I just don't like the interface for reading and commenting on posts.
So now it'll be tapatalk for uploading photos, and the web version for everything else.

OT, but yeah guys. I just tried out Flikr and for the life of me couldnt figure out how to direct 3rd party link so then I tried Imgur which allows it but you have to put the IMG stuff in yourself. Photobucket really was convenient to have those choices in direct links right to the forums... darnit. I like the web view of audizine so you can see who last commented on posts and all that stuff. Im sure eventually i'll cave too. I was a holdout coming over to AZ from audiworld too back in 2003, lol.

Continuing OT for a moment. If you try/have tried Tapatalk you can go in the settings for each forum and make it so threads with new posts show up bold and ones you've already viewed show up greyed out to show there's no new comments. You can also subscribe to threads and receive notifications, if you want, when theres new posts. With Flickr on the computer you just have to copy your pics address and then use the image link button on Audizine to insert the pic address and it will code it properly to show up in your post. Hope that helps a little

Absolutely. I've been working crazy hours - 12 of the last 13 days and 10+ hours per day. But I'm fairly free for the rest of this week, so I'm planning to start the process. Bradenton Motorsports Park can be a pain when it comes to scheduling.

Ok, that was a pain in the ass. All the photos have been fixed. Photobucket didn't make that easy. I couldn't even click on the link to see what the pictures were. I had to log in on my desktop so I could see the file name and full link of every photo on my Photobucket account. Then I had to match the address of the link in the posts here. Once I did that I had to upload the photos from my phone using tapatalk. The tapatalk part was easy, the rest really sucked.

Also, anyone that responded to one of my posts by quoting a post with pictures... The pictures in the replies are still broken. The forum still points to the broken links. So damn annoying. But it's done now. And all future pictures will be uploaded with tapatalk.

How did you get an AWE supercharger pulley on your engine? I have a 2016 A6 supercharged car with a bolt on pulley. I was informed that on one makes the appropriate pulley for gear reduction yet. Do you have an item number for this part? Thanks.

The S4 supercharger doesn't use bolts for the pulley. But if there's a Stage 2 tune available for your year and model, there should be an available pulley. Alternatively, you could do a larger crank pulley and end up with the same result.

    A few updates...

The JHM issue has been resolved. Jake was great to deal with and he handled everything well.

The car is currently at Crown Motorsports. Evan asked if he could have the car for a few weeks to "do some stuff." I actually didn't even ask him what this "stuff" is until a day after I dropped off the car.

Now for the bad news. Some of the "stuff" that Evan is doing required removing the supercharger. Well, both my intercoolers are leaking. Quite a bit actually. That sucks. I hadn't noticed any symptoms (mainly misfires on cold starts), but it's possible that the increased NVH from the lightweight flywheel and undampened crank pulley masked the misfire.

Then when I was at Crown, I had them check the tread depth of my tires on my SQ5. They ranged from 3/32 to 5/32. So time for new tires. The plan was to order tires tomorrow. Well, driving tonight I got a TPMS warning. One of the tires was down to 25psi. I filled it hoping that it was just a slow leak. I drove for about 30 minutes, then the car sat for about three hours. I got back in and as soon as I started driving, TPMS warning again. Down to 20psi now. So much for it being a slow leak. I was planning to order from tire rack, but that'll take a few days for delivery. Shit.

So now I'm down to zero working Audis. Ugh. Time for bed.

I've suspected many are leaking without any evident of it leaking aside from occasional lowering in coolant levels out slowly over time (and not due to the usual seasonal changes)

If you were curious for next time, the intercooler part # under VW's catalog is about $70 cheaper ($173, and you can normally save shipping costs if you go to your local VW dealer) CLICK HERE . Gotta love that Audi tax, makes you wonder what the Porsche equivalent part# pricing is on the hybrid Cayenne/Panamara is...

That's me right there! I haven't had any codes, nothing stored, nothing acting weird, but I keep seeing my coolant level drop and I need to bring up to "Max" line :( Standard APR Stage 2 with TCU Tune. OEM everything else.

I'm sure I would have noticed under normal circumstances. But due to the lightweight flywheel and undampened crank pulley I have a ton of NHV on cold starts (well, all the time actually). And that would have masked the feel of the misfire. And with the transmission coming out plus some of the other work that been done recently, we've had to drain and refill the coolant system a few times. So I couldn't monitor the coolant levels. It really is a good thing that Evan asked to borrow the car to do some "stuff."

I’ve been really busy with work, so I haven’t had the time to update the thread (or even drive the car much).

Yes, the leaks were fixed. The intercoolers were shot, so they were replaced. While everything was apart the supercharger was ported and polished. And the new intercoolers were coated with a coating to help pull heat out of the air.

I’ll have to try and locate some pictures to do a proper update.

Next up is fixing the front brakes. While swapping to my track wheels last month I noticed that some of the screws that secure the hats to the rotors are loose. I’m assuming that is from expansion and contraction at the track. It turns out that I’ve put over 900 miles on these rotors at Sebring. I’m hoping to have time to do that tomorrow.
