    Hi

So ive located where the control module is for the remote central locking.. which is in the comfort/convenience control module. Does anyone know which colors are the lock/unlock wires so i can connect my new remote central locking receiver.. so i can use my remotes that came with it.. ill attach a pic of the kit i bought..

I need help running the wires.. ive searched upon hours and hours with hardly any relevant info on this.. surely someone has done a aftermarket remote central locking install

I dont understand why you would install and aftermarket receiver to perform the same function as the factory part???You will need to look at some wiring diagrams.Too many wire to list. The comfort module has probably 40 wires going to it if not more.IIRC all the comfort does is complete the circuit by grounding it.

Personally i think replacing the comfort module with a used part anywhere from 40-$80 is a better option.

Previous one i had got flooded.. its got a new one in there now.. my remote hasnt worked since ive gotten the car.. ive already made sure the blockages r clear and plus Ive really been avoiding taking it to the dealer.. to have it apparently reprogramed.. i know the keyfob works fine.. either needs to be programed to the dash or completely reprogram with vcds.. just reprogram it is what ive been advised by 4 different members.. i just thought this was the best diy solution.. and cost effective.. plus isnt it just as simple as finding out the correct colors in wires and locating the lock/unlock trunk lights and connect them? When i look at the ccm theres like 3 small plugs with like 6 wires in each and say 10 wires in the big plug.. cant i just leave everything as is and splice into each and piggyback it to the new receiver?

    Just a thought..

Or is the best solution is to program the damm thing.. it really is pointing in tgat direction.. hence there is zero info on how to install aftermarket remote keyless entry on the a4 b6s

To be honest I think the best solution is to use the factory module. Please make sure the ebox in the cowl area under the hood near the driver is not cracked.I cant tell you how many times I've seen that ebox cover broken under the drivers side wiper arm.Tehre is a bolt there. Most people dont look and just rip it off.Later on you have water ingress into vehicle.First thing to go is normally the ccm.

The keyfob is always programmed to the car/immobilizer unless a key is replaced and needs to be adapted.I think all you need is to adapt the key to the CCM.If you havent used it in a while it will loose its bind to the ccm. However if your certain the remote fob is good and the battery is good.It could be adapted using vcds or sometimes you can put the key into the ignition.Turn to the on/acc position and hold the unlock button for a 5 seconds. Then turn ignition off.Sometimes that brings them back to life and it start communicating with the CCM.

Yeh my front footwell had at least 2 litres of water.. was sitting there pressing the carpet and the foam dampening material to remove with a towel and water pump.. but since ive unplug the 2 drain holes under the batt.. hasnt been wet.. todays raining so itll be a good test.. pretty certain in the clear. However abt relinking the key.. cuz ive only got 1 keyfob and the black plastic key and a recut key.. ive tried putting the recut key into ignition in the on acc position then using the fob to lock and unlock.. and pressing lock unlock anf all that hasnt worked.. ill give ur solution a go See if thatll work also Ive just got a 2nd keyfob but its from a different car from uk.. but same matching codes inside the key. Not sure if this new key will link to my car.. but everythings the same.. difference is it came out of a 03 a4 and mines a 2004 a4. Have u heard that the glass pill inside the key can only be linked one time to any specific car.. i read somewhere that once the pills been activated or programmed to a car thats it.. cant program the pill a 2nd time.. is that true?

You're confusing the remote for locking/alarm with the Immobilizer maybe? The RFID 'pill' can only be programmed to ONE specific Immobilizer system. It can be re-programmed to that system many times, but not to a different one.
The remote can be programmed to as many cars as many times as you want. You can program a remote to several cars at one time- so if you have 3 B6's, you can program ONE remote to lock/unlock all of them.
You can try to do the owner-manual version of programming the remote, but it usually doesn;t work, especially for an initial programming. The easiest way is to use Vag-Com, log into the Central Elect. module, go to MBV...it's like 8 or 10. Press the remote buttons and see if it's recognized.
Or go straight to adaptations, then remote learning, and select #1 - #4 to assign the remote to. Press some buttons on the remote and see if the field cycles to 'recognized'.
If not then try a different remote. The CECM module was updated in 2003, so there are a bunch of B6 remotes that only work on the early model. So it can be tricky to verify you absolutely have a correct remote.
Beyond that there's no special tricks or anything.

As stated yes the rfid pill for immobilizer can only get coded once.It carries a vin and a immobilizer code. However this has nothing to do with the ccm.Simply put this key is of no use to you unless you put a new rfid pill in it.

The other keys that are matched to the car/immobilizer should be able to get adapted either using my method or using vcds to adapt them.
