    2013 s6 launch control

Read as much as I could find but I can't seem to get lc to worked. Sticks at 2k and loads trans. Tried three time exactly as described and no luck. Did more searching and checked launch control counter and it's at 1. Ideas?

You have to hit the various buttons to disable ESP etc. Put into D, pull down for S mode, stand on the brake then floor the accelerator (it will stick at around 5000 revs steady no matter how much you push the accelerator), then step right off the brakes pedal and hang on!

The trick is to use both feet - one on brake, other flooring accelerator pedal - like a racing driver. Its not a natural movement if you've not one it a few times.

From your vid clip it looks like you just floored the pedal. Thats not LC.

If stability control isn't turned off, or if the car isn't in "Dynamic" mode with the trans in "S", then LC WONT engage.

When properly engaged, the engine isn't straining against the brakes - it revs freely, just like if the car had a manual transmission and the clutch was depressed.

I guess in that clip stability control wasn't off. But, today, I made sure. Dynamic, put into drive then click shifter down once to go into sport, push brake pedal all the way (hard) and hold to floor, then floor gas pedal. Still didn't work and I tried it three times.

Post a clip of the entire procedure you're using to try to engage LC mode so that we can try to help you figure out what's going wrong.

If you put it into dynamic and then pulled back on Shifter. You put the trans back into normal mode. Putting it in dynamic automatically puts the trans in sport mode.

I had problems initially as well but got it down now. After making sure your car is set up right (sport mode, esp/acc etc turned off) then I've found starting with using just one foot works good. Roll to the point you want to start at ensuring your steering wheel is absolutely straight, it will not engage with wheels turned. Take your foot off the gas and stop like normal with the right foot on the brake now and ensure you press it hard to the floor and hold it down. Now apply your left foot keeping it in place hard against the floor and then use your right foot to floor the gas to the floor as well. Again when this is done correctly there is no extra strain on your brakes after the gas is pressed. If you're feeling any brake resistance the sequence has not been done correctly. This is the method I ensure to use and have no problems, used to be hit or miss when I would start off trying to use both feet stopping with left (maybe I just sucked at it). Good luck!

With any luck I'll try again this afternoon. I did check my counter (very easy in VCDS) and was at "1". I assume this is because I recently had the TCU software flashed. I swear I did all the steps previously mentioned but I must have done one little item incorrectly. I'm now wondering if the wheels weren't 100% straight but it sure seemed they were. Other thing is (and I know traction control is no deactivated in the video, I did fix that on subsequent tries), is that I am sure it was is sport mode. I just made sure it said "S" in the cluster. My last guess, if it still doesn't work tonight, that maybe because I have a drivetrain mount code, this is disabling it? No codes in ecu or tcu, just that single drivetrain mount code.

BTW, real easy to check the counter if you have VCDS. Go into autotrans module, advanced measuring blocks, type in "launch" in the search box. Find the launch control counter and check the box.

Seems logical, at least, that that code could disable LC, given the shock that LC puts through the drivetrain. Sounds like you might have a bad/leaking motor mount? (not unheard of, BTW)

And one final suggestion. I believe I've read that the car has to be 'up to temp' for LC to work as well. So it won't LC unless you've driven it for a bit first. But I'd guess the most likely culprit is the code you've thrown.

Temp needs to be up and steering wheel needs to be straight.

I also find LC on the 2013 S6 is very difficult to engage but not impossible - this is compared to my B8 S4 which was very easy to engage.

Couple of things I tried initially might have helped. One is the DSG calibration procedure which is done after a flash. Basically it adapts the engagement point etc.

I also really needed to floor the brake, you pretty much have to come off the seat to do this. Then, pause a nice full second, then engage throttle.

I think I read somewhere that you also have to have a reasonable amount of gas in the tank, for LC to work.

Just like the OP i've had the same issue on mine so I'll add whatever might be helpful. I Launched it several times on the street no problem. Took it to the track and that's where the problem started. It's hard to expalin a issue that majority of the board members dont have so the inital respose is your doing it wrong and a list of How to use LC pop up.

I also scanned the car and got this code, couldn't find much on it. Cleared it and it never came back but car still responds in the same way.

A buddy of mine and Ex-Audi tech mentioned to me to make sure the car is up to date on all maintenance's and that the DSG tranny is high Maintenance etc.

Long story short, I just happened to find out my car never received the 35k service which is a major service. Since this should have been done already since my car was CPO'd at 37k miles Audi has agreed to do the maintenance free of charge or course since they claimed it was up to date.

As of yesterday the car is back to stock. I'm driving it around and maybe tomorrow or sometime during the week I will test LC a few times to see if any issues arise and report back. Also the car goes in for service on Monday, so I'll see if there a difference in how it drive and shifts.

I had the same code after my TCU tune. Never came back. Just figured it had something to do with that. However I do not have the launch control issues you have. Hopefully the trans fluid change helps.

Could have been the case, I never scanned the car after the TCU tune until LC wasn't working correctly. But it hasn't come back, I hope it helps too as this is def frustrating.
