    Hello, Im new here!

Hello everyone. I just picked up a 2016 A4 Quattro PP. I am coming from an Infiniti G sedan that was recently totaled. My G was modified and tuned lightly. I was active on the forums for the G and look forward to learning about the Audis on here.

Welcome... I think you made the right choice. I sat in a Q50 and wasn't impressed... Not much interior room, the quality was inferior and the two-tiered satnav was annoying to say the least. I didn't get far enough in the sale to drive it, but from what I hear, it's not much of a sports sedan either... The Red Sport 400 is supposed to be fast, though.

Any company that comes out with technology (whatever that shaftless steering system is) that tries to filter out road feel has a big red flag against it. The G35/37 were two of the best sport sedans ever made, though. Sad yours didn't make it... but it sounds like there was a happy ending.

I agree totally. I was close to going with the Q but glad I decided not to. Ive driven the red sport and it was pretty fun but for the engine, still felt underwhelming. I loved my G sedan. It was a AWD Sport. Modified exactly how I liked it, but oh well. Time for a new project. The one thing I cant figure out is if I am a B8, B8.5 or B9 platform.

    If you're sure it's a 2016 (if you bought it new, there's a better chance it's a 2017), it's a B8.5

But the best way to find out is to post some pics of it

It's not the new 2017. I looked at that at the dealer. I purchased it preowned with very low miles and all the specs sheets say it's a 2016.

You should definitely get an apr tune, it gives the car a good amount of extra power.

That is on the list. I wanted to drive the car a little before I start modding. My infiniti was tuned. I am not sure I am going to be doing all what I did to the G. I dont plan on doing intake, exhaust or springs/coilovers.

Yea, intake and exhaust aren't worth it. All you really need is a high flow catalytic converter and an Apr stage 2 tune

Would I need any modifications for the Stage 1 tune?

Welcome. Good choice on the 2016 MY. The first B8 came out in 2009 model year so Audi pretty much solved all the major problems by 2016. (BTW your model is generally called the B8 but the B8.5 moniker is the mid-cycle refresh.)

No, Stage 1 is for an otherwise stock car. Stage 2 is for a high-flow catalytic converter or test pipe.

Thanks! That will probably happen down the road. My first mod will probably be changing the pedals to the RS style. I just have to figure out which set I need.

In addition to APR, Unitronic has great tunes IMO.

Beware that if you flash a tune onto the factory ECU, there is no way to completely hide it from the dealership. 90% of dealerships will void your warranty for an aftermarket tune. If that is a concern for you, you might want to check out one of the new piggyback tune modules that have started coming out recently. They are in response to the warranty void of the traditional ECU flashes. Neuspeed has there's on the market already and Berger and maybe even Dinan are coming out with ones I believe.

Good to know. I was a reading a little about this. It is also why I planned on waiting awhile before I actually did it.

Congrats. I went from a B7 that hit a deer to an IS 250 and am trying to find a B8/B8.5 to come back to the Audi fam now.
