    Heated seat issue

    Hey all,
Curious if anyone has ran into the heated seat shutting off after turning on, no matter the setting and I'm getting an electrical fault with VCDS. Before I dig into it further was wondering if there are any common fixes besides the fuse, and the heater element in the seat.

Passenger side seems to work fine without issue, so I'd assume that the HVAC module is hopefully fine.

    Thanks!

Sounds like a possible heater element to me. Something I used to do to check back when I was in the shop was check resistance across the element and compare it to the pass side which works. Quick way to tell if there's an open in the element

can someone take a pic or describe the harness and location that powers the heater element?
My avant has the same problem that the OP described, but i for the life of me cannot find the correct wire.

This is the location of the seat back connector for the heater and the cable for the seat bottom comes out in the same spot as well, cant find the pinout or connector description.

    This might help too

If there is a condition, where the heating or ventilation of the driver of passenger seat cannot be switched on, this will be stored as a malfunction in the Vehicle Electrical System Control Module -J519-, in the Memory Seat/Steering Column Adjustment Control Module - J136- or in Passenger Memory Seat Control Module -J521- (depending on the vehicle type and the vehicle equipment level). Currently no information is sent to the Climatronic Control Module - J255- via the data bus system; the DTC memory must be read out in each control unit or in the Comfort System Central Control Module - J393- using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 under "Guided Fault Finding". If there is a complaint about seat heating or seat ventilation, first check the control module DTC, which controls the seat heating and seat ventilation.
The seat heating and ventilation is adjusted by the Climatronic control module; the adjustment is transmitted to the vehicle electrical system control module via the data bus. The specified temperatures for the different seat heating and seat ventilation settings are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module. Depending on the version of the vehicle electrical system control module and on the vehicle build date, the specified temperature for the seat heating and ventilation can be different with the same setting on the Climatronic control module. Check using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 under "Guided Fault Finding" (for the vehicle electrical system control module).
