Cool Need full black badge set for RS7

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi All. Just collected my 2014 RS7 in Suzuka Grey, and it is one spectacular car! It has the matte silver / aluminiuim optics package, but all the chrome badges aren't a good look . So where do I go for a complete set of black badges (front and rear rings, rear RS7 and front RS7)?? I thought I had found what I need at audibadges-dot-com, but strangely they don't do the grille RS7 badge (wierd!). I'm thinking gloss black is the way to go, but toying with a matt finish (if available!). Thoughts? Thanks

Its actually not too difficult to do yourself, and if you buy new badges from the dealer, it will still work out cheaper than buying refinished ones.

I did my own rear badge.

Purchase badge from dealer £23.00 1 x Can of grey plastic primer. 1 x Can of (what ever colour you want - I had black lying around) 1 x Can of clear lacquer. Total outlay about £36.

3 coats of primer, 3 coats of black, 4 coats of clear lacquer. Total time, about a 2 hours with 10-15 mins between coats. Finished badge has been on about 8 months now, and no issues. If your doing all your badges, you only need one set of paint cans, and you could recycle the badge off the grill and reuse it. All the other badges are stick on, so rather than faff around, I purchased new ones

Yeah heat gun or hairdryer if you don't have one and delete take floss. I went and bought a heat gun as the hairdryer outside took too long. Heat gun less than a minute.

Just did this on my S6 a couple weeks ago. You have two options, you can easily remove the badges from the plate with a little heat. Or, what I did, was reach behind the gill and un-clip the plate completely. Mine popped off very easily.

I am looking to do both sets of rings and the rear RS7 emblem on my 2015 Prism Silver. The only thing I can find is TAG’s sticker shock set, ebay’s cheap and very quality suspect versions and the DIY method that I really don’t have time for.

Is that really it for this mod for my RS7 or is there another vendor?

You know all tag does is paint oem badges. If you buy their reflector amber deletes, you will see that it is oem reflectors painted to your car paint color and then you code them out. Emblems are easy to paint with a few light coats. Do a coat, let it dry and come back later

I have a request out to my dealer anyway and they will tell me what they find tomorrow. If it comes down to it I’ll have them do it, don’t mind paying for it to be done right and installed correctly at the end of the day.

The OEM audi badges are very cheap quality too. You'll be surprised when you take them off and look around.
