Simple wheel spacer question for a new guy.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I have a 2011 A5 2.0

I was wondering what size spacers would you recommend to just space the rear wheel equal to the front wheels or slightly more.

Also, will this have any other affect on the car?

You really need to measure the distance as all depends on wheel width size/offset etc. Usually the rear spacers need to be about 5mm wider to even out the look. Eg 20mm spacers for rear and 15mm for front. I would recommend measuring using a straight edge from the ground up against both edges of tyre and measuring gap between it and wheel arch lip to give you an exact size and then you can use that size for an aggressive look or just slightly less depending on personal choice.
    Hope this helps.

3mm at the rear will have you dead on, 5mm will actually provide a bit of poke. Hit my Flickr if you like, and look at my old A5. I ran many sets of wheels, and ran 3 or 5mm more at the rear with each set.

    5mm...

    You also must consider drop/camber.

Hot car! Newbie here! I just bought a 2014 S5 with the 19" rotor wheels. I don't intend to lower my car but I am curious about spacers. I've read that some people do 15mm in front and 20mm in back. You mention 3mm and 5mm. If I just want to bring the wheels out even with the fenders what would you suggest?

Not lowered, 10/15 would be my selection And thanks!

I'm not sure of the offset in the OEM 19" wheels and probably Mops is correct with 10mm (f) and 15mm (r), Everything depends of the wheel offset and if the car is lowered or not. When I just got my A5 with OEM 18"x8.5-29 offset wheels and OEM suspension I got 15mm (f) 20mm (r) for a perfect flush and then I lowered so I switch to 20mm(f) and 25mm(r), this because the camber when it is lowered. Now with the HREs 20 x 10.5-35 offset I have 5mm (f) and 7mm (r). I wish I can have 10mm at the back, but none of the hubcentric 10mm spacers out in the market work with my wheels/car hub combination ...:-(

I just got aftermarket wheels too and they look "sunken in" to the fenders. Looks like I have the same question.
I'm going from the stock wheels (I believe they are 18x8.5, 29 offset) and I got some Monte Titano 18x8 with 35mm offset.
The front is not bad but it's noticeable in the back.

Higher offset pushes the wheels in, narrower wheels will also push the wheels in. You got a higher offset AND narrower wheel so that's doubly bad

Yeah I got these ones from TireRack http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...dClar=Prestige
They look great, they just need some spacers.

I'll have to measure them later but I'm thinking 15 or 20mm in the rear? Would that affect performance at all? Would they be less safe with a larger spacer like 25?
