Ugh Car would not shift 3rd to 4th at Redline today at the track....thoughts??

I took the car to the track today for the last time this season, was a nice cool morning. First run felt great, off the line great, but when it got to 6600 RPM in 3rd, it would not shift to 4th!! Just kept bouncing off 6600 or so. I ran 12.78@91 MPH! Ran it again, same problem. I ran a few more times but paddle shifted from 3rd to 4th and that worked fine. Also, the shifting seemed slower than usual from 1-2 and 2-3. I am running GIAC St 2 with DSG software, and never had this issue. I had Audi service a few weeks ago and had the software put back on. No clue what is going on, but for some reason only at redline with the gas still floored, the damn thing won't get out of 3rd gear without paddles. I had it in Dynamic with Traction off, but that wouldn't matter. Happened on the way home testing on the highway, no shift into 4th.

    Anyone ever have this???

I am running APR so forgive the question if naïve but why is your car shifting at 6600 rpm if you have a DSG tune?

It shifts around 7400 or so normally with the DSG software. 1-2, 2-3 all around 7400 or so. In 3rd for some reason it stopped around 6600 today and refused to shift or go any higher. That was my issue.

Ah gotcha. That's what I was getting at, if that's normal with GIAC, or your setup for some reason, or part of the issue. Thanks for the clarity.

Umm, you sure you got flashed back to Stage 2? Could it be something wan't flashed back to what it was before? Maybe they did Stage 1 and DSG or just DSG alone or some shit. What service did you have done on the car which caused you to have to flash to stock and then back? If it was the ECU recall thing, are you sure they revised your ECU file and gave you the new version? Not that it would make a difference if they just flashed you back to the old one (it would just undo what Audi did for you) but I'm just wondering... maybe you got the new files but something is wrong with them or some shit.

Regardless of tune it should still shift up.

I am pretty sure I am back to Stage 2 from the times I was getting today. I had the 25k AudiCare service and they did the ECU recall too. They flashed the Stage 2 and DSG over that anyway, so it should not matter really. This is the first time at the track since i got the tune redone a few weeks ago, never had an issue with it not shifting. On the road it shifts fine, cannot tell, only when it is floored from 3rd -4th. Highway home happened too, would not accelerate at redline 3rd unless i paddle shifted up. Going to have to call AWE on Monday, just was wondering if others had any of the same issues. Something definitely not right.

Well, I contacted AWE Tuning about this, they have a call into GIAC to see what they think, but so far no response. May need to get the DSG tune removed and test it out again to see if that is the problem. If it shifts fine after it is removed, looks like the DSG tune is messed up.
