EPC and Traction Lights - inermittent Rough idle / wont drive

Hey guys, new to the site - so not sure if this is the correct place to post. I have a 2007 a4 2.0t Quattro. I've had some issues that recently snowballed with my mechanic.

After replacing, diverter valve, throttle body, and boost solenoid we're still running into the same issues. EPC and Traction lights come on with a rough idle. seems like we're taking shots in the dark and getting nowhere - anyone else run into this?

Most recent scan was P0121 - and mechanic is suggesting that we replace the accelerator pedal / switch. Sound reasonable?

    Thank in advance!

My previous car was a 2007 A4 3.2, the ECU module went bad, got a short or something. First signs were pcode for failed Eval pump (emissions related). Intermittently my ESC light would illuminate on my dash without me turning it off. All that went away when I replaced the ECU. Bought a used one on eBay for $250 and was $500 at dealer for install and flash. It was a tough call cause I felt like I was shooting in the dark and taking a long shot. Ends up it worked.

Now that I think about it, I also had the accel pedal switch replaced while troubleshooting.
