FCP Euro for the suspension parts. Everything else can be had at comparable prices from Europaparts, JHM, ECS, etc.

Do you know of anyone that rents the cam locking tool when doing the cam tensioner?

Dude that's awesome! I'll be getting that from you in a month when I accumulate all of the parts and do the work over a weekend during Christmas time

I'm going with FCP considering i'll be doing uppers, lowers, tie rods, sway bar links, and strut mounts for about $275 shipped... maybe they'll have a black Friday sale and i'll pull the trigger!

They have an AZ discount of $90 off IIRC. Check the vendor forum for the thread.

You may want to consider pulling the head completely, And replacing the valve guides and seals if you're going to do the carbon cleaning. I had mine done maybe 6000 miles ago, and the amount of oil that is built back up on the valves is pretty significant. Just my two cents

I scoped mine out not long ago and they aren't bad. I may consider this down the road when and if I decide to go BT

id like to suggest that this is a cam alignment tool , not a cam locking tool. Use this to lock the cams and there is a good chance you will destroy it while reefing on the cam nut with a breaker bar. Still need to lock that cam down with a set of sturdy vice grips or two against the head

I bought the cam locking tool and it didn't work very well. It doesn't make the cams completely immobile. There is a youtube video out there about that. Check it out if you want to see it in detail.
You can end up being off by a tooth or two in the end.
What I did in addition to using the tool is get a paint pen and mark the crank, intake and exhaust cam locations before you even take the timing belt off. That's what I used in the end to get the timing set correctly.
Also when taking the rear chain tensioner cover off be careful. If you have all the bolts off and it still doesn't slide off then it most likely means that the oil rings on the housing that slide into the camshaft adjuster have gouged groves into it, locking it on. I found this out after trying to gently work it off for a DAY! Then I smacked it and one of the rings snapped but it slid off.
That housing is around $750 but you can get the rings from ECS for around $50.

That is why you must align the chain exactly.

If you buy the correct one (not a cheap ebay copy), you can use it as a locking tool.
