    Will 05 A4 2.5 TDI Sport Edition rims fit my 01 A6 4.2

The 05 A4 with the 2.5 TDI rims are 7Jx16 ET35 with a 57.1 center bore, there OEM Sport Edition rims.
The closest rims specs for my 01 A6 4.2 I can find are 8Jx17 ET40 which are from a 01 A6 with a 2.7 TDI with 57.1 center bore. My car has 17" pie plates. I am not worried about going to 16s but is the ET difference ok. Anybody have the rims specs for a 01 A6 4.2 with pie plates.
    Thanks

I believe the pie plates are ET35 so 16x7 will look less flush to the fender compared to the pie plates. You may want to look into to see if the wheel will actually clear the brakes too

I had 16" Steelies on my last 4.2, don't remember the exact specs as far as et, but they will clear the brakes, just barely. I did it to run dedicated snow tires from when I lived up north. They should clear, but like Audiudo, they'll look off on the vehicle due to being further in. Only other option would be to run spacers on them to bring them out a bit. IMO, if you're going to run these full time, I'd look at a larger wheel as 16's look odd.
