It's funny, I never thought I'd pick up a B8 S4 seeing how I never really wanted a large car payment and I've always kind of been a b5 guy. I have a 2000 nogaro blue S4 that's somewhat of a project and was daily driving a 2001 imola yellow S4 avant that I just finished up a six speed swap over the winter on and was enjoying that when I stumbled across a 2010 S4 sitting in the back lot of my local Audi dealership. What caught my eye was that it was slammed and looked like it was wrapped in a snow camo. I got ahold of a few friends who worked there and they filled me in on the details about how the car was owned by some kid who brought it in for service because it overheated on him and then had its air ride fail on him and he was just trying to get rid of it because he didn't have the money to fix it.

Ended up getting his information and meeting with him and after doing some research and finding out it was more than likely the thermostat that failed I looked over the car and found it was a prestige with the magma red and black interior, B&O sound system and sport diff along with some other minor issues, mostly just being extremely dirty and having a leak somewhere with the airlift suspension, and I made him an offer. Now I was told that dealership had offered him $10k for a trade in but he wasn't approved for a loan so being in the spot he was in I decided I'd make the same offer in cash. We shook on it and next thing I know I have it on a trailer to take to my buddies house to get it out of the dealers lot since they threatened to tow it because it had been sitting in their lot for two weeks already and they were getting impatient. I was in the middle of moving out of my roommates place and in a duplex with the woman so I didn't really have space to start working on it until we finally moved all our stuff to the new place.

Got everything situated at the duplex and immediately started peeling the wrap off which went pretty smoothly besides the areas where they must've not sprayed as heavily and all the seams and door jams (I will never recommend plastidip for that reason alone lol). Unfortunately after all the dip was removed I found out the fenders and quarter panels were beat pretty badly from him airing out on wheels too big for the car and had chipped and cracked the paint pretty badly. Replaced the thermostat and water pump and fired right up with no issues! After it was up and running I found out I had an APR stage 2+ tune with three files and smaller pulley, along with a full Milltek exhaust. Went through the entire suspension and found a leaking bag to be the reason it wouldn't hold pressure, switched it out with a new bag and it was roadworthy

Been driving the car for three months now and it's been great! Downsized a bit and sold my avant but this car easily makes up for it and I couldn't be happier! Sorry for the long read, here's some pics haha

Since I'm up in Wisconsin we get some decent winters up here and I've always been a fan of the newer oem wheels from Audi so I picked up a set of Oem Peelers off an S5 from a gentleman, in Texas I believe, for a great price and ordered a set of blizzaks from tire rack along with a stud conversion kit from UroTuning to make life easier when it comes to taking wheels off and on. Also invested in a aluminum skid plate from ECS since I had the alternator take a shit on me and I'm assuming it's because it was completely exposed to the elements from lack of factory belly pan.

Also picked up the Luft Technik carbon fiber intake to dress up the engine bay and allow me to hear some of that amazing blower whine

So I dropped the car off at the beginning of the week back on the 7th to finally get the body work taken care of and since I didn't have anything else to do besides sit at work all week and suffer through boredom I decided to do some window shopping online lol after browsing through ECS I found that they had one of their carbon fiber lip spoilers listed as "scratch and dented" and after seeing the tiny scratch that it had on the bottom of the lip I jumped on it right away especially after seeing I could get it now instead of waiting till near the end of January when the next batch is supposed to be available and with the lip mounted you can't even see the scratch. Oh and I picked up the fuel line relocation kit, mostly because I'm lazy and didn't feel like sourcing the parts myself.

Got the car back this past Friday and it's 100x cleaner now that I don't have beat fenders and the paint looks flawless. I was so self conscious about my fenders I hated parking by nicer cars and I feel so much better now that everything's fixed threw on the spoiler and picked up a rook rack from a local friend of mine who used to have a b8 as well. Super happy with how the car sits now but I do have a pair of Strafe Design side splitters waiting to go on after the snows all gone. Don't want to risk damaging them!

It's the girlfriends and mine very first Christmas together in our own place so we decided to go pick up a tree over the weekend. Made good use of the roof rack haha

I've also been playing around with vinyl lately and decided to take advantage of the crappy weather we got hit with and wrap my roof in a gloss black. Came out pretty good but working around shark fin antennas suck! Lol

Been kinda slow and haven't had too much going on lately, between work and taking apart my b5 s4. I did pick up a set of Rotiforms and a carrier box as a nice Christmas gift to myself though.

Also relocated the air ride from the previous owner and mounted the new seamless air tank onto the trunklid and moved the compressor, water trap, and manifold to the spare tire well. I have my trunk back and it's sooo nice to have the storage space again

Gf surprised me with a short throw shifter from ECS paired with a magma red BFI shift knob (she's a keeper) but that probably won't get installed since motivation is lacking and I need to order a new push to start button since mine is starting to peel? Oh well
