Damage to coolant line from aftermarket intake

It's been awhile since I've been on here, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced damage to their coolant line from their roc euro intake or another similar intake. I've had the intake for about 50k and clean the filter every 5k. Today I took it off because I was taking my car in for service and noticed the coolant line behind the intake pipe looks like it has been grinded down from rubbing on the pipe. I completely remove the intake every 10k when I take my car in for service and this is the first time I've noticed any issues. I don't think I will be putting it back on.1479275741783.jpg1479275797369.jpg

Lots of people experienced this, including myself. Annoying but easily fixed (the grinding, not the line).

Glad you caught it before it was able to leave you stranded!

This is generally regarded as an installation error, or due to the clamp at the throttle body not being tight enough which results in the intake pipe rotating over time and eventually resting and rubbing on the coolant line. For added safety, you can buy a small piece of rubber hose and wrap it around the pipe as seen here.

Yep. That's what I did before I installed my CTS turbo intake. Excellent tip
