That actually is what defines is as a true catback (the fact that it has DPs) The cats are right before DP in our car. technically the AWE exhaust with stock downpipe isn't a catback. its a downpipe back. confusing I know :)

The term "catback" exhaust can be defined as the section of an exhaust system that attaches after the last catalytic converter in the system. A catback exhaust is typically made up of a rear-pipe, a resonator and a muffler, but depending on the make and model, it can also include a mid-pipe, X-pipe, H-Pipe or a Y-Pipe, and even the down-pipes following the cat-pipes. That is the case with the Audi B8/8.5 S4 exhaust. However, I certainly agree that the Borla exhaust is a great system!

I couldn't say, as I don't know. IIRC, that S4 belong(s)(ed) to a mid-to-higher level manager at Borla and was the development car for the exhaust.

Bummer I was considering buying the S4 and custom fitting it to my S5?? Are the downpipes longer or shorter? Do you think if I use the S4 downpipes I can still custom fit the rest of the system?
