    Hi all!!!

    My name is Alice.
I'd like to ask you for a piece of advice concerning the tire choice.
I'm an owner of Audi A6 2000. It's not a new car of course, but a reliable and a trustworthy as well.
I've got it from my Dad as a present. And right now I face the fact of choosing new tires for it, which I have never done before.
So I'm a little bit confused by the various offers on the market and their peculiarities.

Maybe you can suggest tried and true options for such a car as mine?
I found out that I need tires of 255/40 R18 size.
    I'd highly appreciate any info.

X-Ice come in a huge range of sizes due to their popularity. In biased since it's the only snow tire I've used, though it's somewhere to start.
TireRack.com is a great place to look up tire ratings and size, then you can take that kind of tire and try to find a local price that will be cheaper.
Keep in mind that you also need to mount and balance all of the tires to the wheels so make sure you take whether or not they offered that in the cost into consideration.

    Thank you very much!
Yeah, i see that X-Ice is the Michelin ones. It seems to be a great choice for winter conditions. Here there are even tests on a hockey rink!!! Really awesome.
As to the mounting and balancing, maybe it's better to look for fully-fitted option? Have you ever used such one?
    I was recommended also mytyres.co.uk.
Trying to compare prices and choose something the most suitable.
    Thanks again.

How to choose the proper winter tires

For what was available in my area Tire Rack couldn't be beat with the included mounting and balancing at the recommended installer that they ship to so that's what I went with the season
