Any thoughts Bel STI R Plus and ALP 5 head unit

Considering adding this to my car. The dealer was also recommending net radar but after looking into it, I don't think I want to go that route. I prefer simpler to use system.

I would appreciate any thoughts. Also, I have seen some cool in-mirror displays for the detector. Does anyone have one of these in their A6 or S6?

It is a decent chunk of change so I want to make sure I am considering all options. I could always go for the Max 2 or Max 360 and the ALP to save cash. Too many options!

Speaking of options- I had the K40 in my S4 but that was years ago. I loved the stealth install and the front rear LEDs. I understand, despite their high price, they are not on the level of the Bel STI R plus and several others. Am I wrong on this?

    Thanks!

I shopped this idea out last year and that's the setup I would have installed. The bel stir plus remote radar with the ALP jammers. I also looked at the stinger VIP system. A tad on the expensive side. Their radar is suppose to be the best but the jammers still needed some updates back then. I prefer the LCD screen to control the stinger tho. In the end I chose not to install either for several reasons. If I were to install one it would be the bel/ALP combo.

The ONLY laser jammer worth buying right now is the ALP. No other jammer works as well, period. Not even Stinger.
You need 3 jammer heads on the ALP to make it effective against the latest laser guns with variable pulse rate.

I have the STiR Plus in my 2013 S6, and I got Radar-Mirror.com to do the display inside the mirror.
The STiR Plus is a good detector if you only need Ka band protection. You will have to turn off X band and K band alerts due to false alarms from any car with blind spot monitoring.

I just purchased an ALP system for my Mercedes, and I decided to get the Net Radar add-on for it, rather than getting the Bel STiR+.
Net Radar does a better job with filtering out K band falses from cars with BSM. Plus, it's cheaper.

Lastly, K40 detectors are garbage. Plain and simple.

Stinger is the best radar detector, followed by Net Radar and then Bel STiR+. Bel does a better job with Ka band than Net Radar, but the K band falsing is a major issue.

I've got STiR+ with the radar mirror and 4 head ALP
I like the setup, I like the GPS lockouts from Bel and, on a 2014 S6, I don't get false alarms because of the BSM

dash integration might have pushed me to the escort (I haven't really looked in to it but on the surface it looks pretty cool): http://www.midcityengineering.com/pr...-s6-2011-2016/

How do you like the net radar? That wasn't out when I was looking. It looks similar to the stinger, at least in is design.

Take a look at the radenso HD+ and their new controller. Cheaper and better than the Bel STI-R but the ALP can plug directly into the radenso controller. It also has the option of running a rear detector for directional control. The HD+ is already out but the controller should drop some time in the next 2 months. You can run it in the ALP controller though.

Net Radar also plugs into the ALP.
