It's the stainless steel rim protector. It's stuck on with adhesive and is replaceable if you scuff one. Each one costs $60.

So if you remove the stainless rim protector, is the paint underneath damaged?

These have never been curbed; as you can see in the pics they are in great condition.

Here's a great photo DIY of how to replace one of these rim guards. You can see in the photos that it's just a 3M double-sided tape that holds the rim guard onto the wheel.

I am very keen on this set but would you know if these will fit an A8 (D4)? My current setup is 20x9 at ET37. I am concerned that these may poke out too far on the inside and hit the suspension.

I am no expert but I would think these would be too wide.

The only two wheels I would be remotely interested in are Volk TE37 Ultras or BBS CI-Rs; but even then still looking to sell more than trade.
