    APR Stage 3 ECU Adjustments?

    Hi,

    Not sure if this has been addressed before, but is the APR Software customizable? As I mean.. are there options to further push numbers beyond what has been set as default through the programs that were flashed on my car when my Stage 3 kit was installed? I know there are other vendors out there that offer Tuning programs for our car, but wasn't sure if APR has such thing, or if I had the option to alter any of the settings within the APR tune itself? I know APR has suggested modes for the car when you flash it, but you never know....

    APR specific tune parameters are set in stone . There are update versions available to a point. Just make sure you have the latest revision. If you to squeeze every drop of HP out of the Stage 3 BT set up. Your gonna have to @ other tune vendors

    They may have a race file for 100oct fuel that is switchable. Just make sure you are running 100oct fuel.

    Or a meth kit that will give pump gas that 100 octane equivalent

    Well yea I guess. Their stage 3 hardware is solid. Their manifolds are top notch. But their tuning, until very recently, has always been just decent.

    I shouldn't crap on them too much, I actually really liked my APR Stage 1+ tune on my b6, but tuners like Motoza can offer more features and better tunes for less. APR is the safe choice I suppose.

    APR Stage 3 ECU Adjustments?

    Both APR and AWE/GIAC offered their stage 3 kits with a gt2871r turbo setup. They are both conservative in that the gt28 framed turbos have the potential to create more torque/power than what was felt to be safe for stock rods. The goal for both of these vendors was reliability and safety (not throwing a rod). I am currently running the AWE kit, however I built the bottom end with I.E. rods and am now pushing the turbo and tuning more. You can definitely extract more from these setups just need to make the appropriate modifications.

    When you say you are tuning more, what are you using to further tune your car outside of what the APR/AWE recommended specs are programmed into the ECU.

    I am working with someone on custom tuning. I log several parameters with Vag-Com over WOT runs to redline. Look at fueling, timing, intake and exhaust temps as well as boost.
