01E worn axle flange/front diff question

    Hey guys,

I just finished my 01E conversion in my A4 B6 and when driving it I noticed a vibration on the front passenger side when braking at highway speeds (braking to come off the highway).

Check front passenger side and noticed that my axle had some play and also my axle flange. So decided to take the front diff out to check if the bearings were good and this is what I found

Passenger side flange shaft seems pretty nice and same thing for the driveshaft "housing"

But on the driver side ... axle flange shaft is pretty rough

And same thing for the inside of the diff

My question is, is this "normal" and I can still drive the car for a while before something actually breaks.

If not, Im guessing I can either get the flange resurfaced or find a used one that is in good shape. For the diff, do I need to get a new one, or is it possible to replace the "end part" that is rough because it seems to be seperate from the rest of the casting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since I would really want to drive my car !
