Winter Tires

Good morning from West Michigan.

In preparation for a predictably, very harsh winter this year. I just put a set of Blizzaks on my OE set of wheels.

I did not think about buying another set of TPMS for the OE set. I am assuming that it going to set some light off on my car? If so, any way around it?

Yes, it will set off the low air pressure warning light. You can buy TPMS sensors from the deal or most major tire shops. I've had good luck with used ones on Ebay if you want to save a few bucks.

You're fine without TPMS. Just make sure you check the pressure.

Wrong forum, you have a B6.

The TMPS system on the B8 uses the ABS sensors to detect rotation speed differences indicating a pressure differential. It doesn't use stand alone sensors like many other cars. 2010 on at least, the 2009 have them.

So since you have a 2009 you have the actual sensors. ECS has a decent price on them if you wanted to throw them on your OEM rims as you originally asked.
