Considering going back to stock allroad exhaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
UPDATED: So I've pretty much decided to go back to the stock catback exhaust. What do you all think? I'm in the process of determining what I need to acquire (don't have the original bits, a mistake on my part).

I'll be unloading the AWE Tuning Allroad 2.0T Touring Edition Exhaust System (diamond black tips) currently on the car. It's been installed for ~2 years.

I'll be keeping the HFC and downpipe, this is only for the catback exhaust system.

Anyone interested in the AWE exhaust? I'd be open to some kind of trade for a stock allroad exhaust.

I'm interested and have a 2010 A4 Avant with stock exhaust. The pic used for both models on their site is identical.

Well, I frequently see "feeler" type posts on the model line forums. I posted here as the allroad is a B8 (B8.5).

There has been a few people expressing interest in swapping for A4 Avant exhausts. As I said I am open to a trade.

My biggest concern with a trade is that I want the stock exhaust to be the exact match for the allroad stock exhaust. Does anyone know if the stock A4 avant and A4 allroad exhaust are identical? I've looked at the part numbers online and there are similar 9-character part numbers. However, some parts have different 2 letter characters at the end of the 9 character part number.

If you don't mind me asking, why going back to stock?

I'd be interested since we've got the same model year allroad...

@ichigo/infiltrator, does it really bother you guys that much that pwdrskr posted this in the main B8 section? So much so that you have to come into the thread (you knew what it was about from the title) and take the time to post and point it out? seriously? unreal...why dont you email the admins and ask to move if you have an issue rather than wasting everyones time putting out nonsense comments that dont contribute anything to the thread?

There have been many instances of the similar feeler threads in the main forum...crash posted a feeler for his AR, there have be GB feelers, part out feelers, wheel feelers, etc. all posted in the main forum...what makes this any different?

Says the guy that took the same amount of time to come into the thread in the attempt to make his point...

Just because others have posted their "feeler" stuff here doesn't mean it's in the right area and fills this main one up with junk.

Sheesh! I've updated the post in such a way that I am asking now asking a question. Happy now?

The only reason I felt comfortable posting is the multitude of "feeler" type posts (as pointed out by kdaffy) in the main forums and the LACK of admins moving them to other area.

Meh, this got the job done. I put a call into AWE to ask about the avant swap. I've got a buddy in your area (edmonds) that could handle the trade if you decide you're interested.

Did some research and found some information that the A4 exhaust isn't compatible with allroads. The mount/hanger points are different or so I'm told.

The allroad is longer and wider than the A4

More reason to stick with the allroad version.

Waiting to hear back from a friend of a friend on a swap for a '15 allroad stock exhaust. The intermediary friend has a lift we'll use to make the swap.

    Looking forward to the deal...
