    Bad check valves?

Any way i could physically tell if my oil check valves are bad?

I replaced them only three months ago and have since done a complete rebuild on the top end, along with timing service.
on my first start, and a few since, ive had extreme lifter noise.
I had some slimey rtv left overs on my pickup and in my flush oil along with misc cleaning chemicals that had been left over in the motor upon re-assemble.

Now im wondering if i can physically tell if my check valves are bad before i go and buy new ones. (This car has become a pit for $$$)

Only way to really tell is pulling the IM and valley gasket to see if they are working properly. The time involved doing that it would be worth just replacing them again.... Do you have a JHM IM on your car? Would better justify that job if you can upgrade. Best mod other than headers in my opinion.

eh. pulling IM is no big deal imo. im putting in a oil pressure guage so i planned on removing it and the oil filter housing to make things a little easier.
If i had the extra i would have done JHM IM but i just bought a pretty good condition oem '05.5 IM off ebay for a really good price with injectors (main reason i bought)

now once the VP is off how can i tell that they are working properly? Any visual thatll show?
