While I agree you can get comparable "straight line" performance from an S4 compared to an S6, there are many other details to the S6 that make it a significantly different car. It is on another level of luxury, fit, finish and options. It also is a monster in stock form, a simple stage 1 tune has it well into the 11 second range. With that being said it's a bigger car and such handles like one, it's refinement has it not feeling as fast as it really is. Bottom line it's an upgrade from an S4 but if you like the smaller, tossable feel of your S4 you may want to keep that in mind.
I recently made the decision to extend the warranty on my 2013 S4 after driving the S6 and S7. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing not to love about both cars but my car is low miles, it's been paid for and I wasn't excited by the S6 enough to drop another $30K on it over the S4. I have an 18 month old daughter right now, if we had another on the way I would have jumped to the S6 no questions. I personally like the smaller, more tossable platform of the S4. I have a 2015 Denali for family hauling and a Z06 for a fun car.... I feel the S4 is the perfect "in the middle" car at this point.
