Don't be scared! Timing service was not performed (that I know of)...I did perform the oil check valve service, however, and the parts that were in there were working when I replaced them so I think that's a good sign for longevity. Also very rare do I hear what I think is the chain rattle. I've never heard anything upon startup that would cause alarm, and any noise I do hear is split-second, not loud, and happens once every couple of months. To keep piling on the good stuff, the build date of this car is July of 2005 so perhaps it had the updated version of the guide.

To top it all off, I daily drive the car to/from work (20 miles each way) every single day and it's been running like a beast. Like you, I thought I would have to also do the timing chain service. Almost 3 years and 40,000 miles after I purchased it, still running strong. If you're local, I urge you to come take a look and test drive.

Remember that price will continue to drop until I leave the country December 30th.

$6k out the door takes it all...but someone contact me quickly. I'm beginning the part out phase if this doesn't sell, so if anyone is interested in the following please let me know:

Passport 9500ix radar detector
LED tail lights
RS4 wheels
2 ton trolley jack

I already have folks interested in a CF trim swap and RS4 wheels. If anyone else is local and wants to swap things for $$ just let me know what it is and we can talk.

If/when I part some of these items out, the price of the car will also be lower
