Help with 2012 audi a6 premium! Epc/check engine light
Hey guys,
Bought a Audi A6 about 2 months ago, at 33000kms, now at 40000kms...
One night I was driving I decided to make a quick pit stop, as soon as I got back into my car and started driving
all of asudden there was a shake and the engine light came on, I drove for a minute and it shook horribly,
I pulled over to the side and turned off my car for a couple of minutes, when I turned back on the car
the engine light was on and the EPC light was on as well, I drove home because I was nearby and the car was
shaking.. I left my car in front of my house for a few days and when I did decide to try driving it again
the Engine light was on and the EPC was off (the shaking disappeared but the engine light still was there)
AFTER a 30 minute drive, all of a sudden my engine light turned off and it was normal..

Till today, I tried speeding up on a highway and the EPC and the ENGINE light turned on, car was shaking bad
and it was hard to speed up quickly..
Anyone have any tips and ideas how to deal with EPC, I have AUDI CARE and 2 year warranty on my vehicle
does anyone know if Audi will repair this car for free? I'm currently waiting for my vehicle to get serviced but theres
a one month wait.

Questions:
1. Should I drive my vehicle?
2. Will Audi fix this problem for free?
3. What should I do? Is this an oil problem?
4. What usually triggers this problem.

Could be something like a bad coil pack. If it's a CPO warranty there is usually a deductible. Mine is $85. Read your paperwork and take it to the dealer. I wouldn't drive it as is.

As long as the car is not tuned, that should be covered under CPO. My dealer has been awesome with my CPO, they have waived the deductible on every visit to date.

Had the same issue with my pervious 2012 A7. Problem cropped up following the recall fix for the fuel rail a few years back. Coolant sprayed from the radiator hose onto the ECU 96 pin connector when dismantled by the shop. The pins became fouled by the coolant causing the same symptoms you're encountering. I'd have your dealer check first to see if the ECU connector is fouled.

Take it to dealer if you still have warranty, but why is there a one month wait.
If anything, I would take it to dealer (without appt.) and have them check and request loaner.
