    Symphony 2+ Conversion Problems

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a symphony 2+ and a wiring harness, non-Bose, from Euro Parts. The radio works, however, the radio does not turn on automatically when the accessory is on, the button lights do not illuminate, and it does not turn off when the accessory is shut off.

Does anybody have any insight to what may be the problem? I was thinking K-Line but it is in the correct positions in the harness.

    Thank you!

I do know there is a manual override, if you shut the radio down when car is on, the radio will stay off even when you turn the car back on.
Can you turn it on when the car is off?

Mine stays on until the key is removed

    Hi Fast4esT,

Yes I can turn the radio on when the car is off.

The other thought I had was maybe the radio is not getting a signal from the convenience module telling it that the ignition or headlights are on to turn the radio/button lights on? Is this a legitimate idea or no? If so, what pin would that be on the 2+?

It's happened in the past that the wiring in aftermarket harness is not always correct, I'll look for it but you'll need to see the wiring diagram for the original symphony radio and the symphony 2+ and check your wiring

    Symphony 2+ Conversion Problems

I've bought and been using 2 conversion harnesses(2 cars) from EP for at least 3 years, they work great. As the gentleman said, you should check the diagram with both HUs.

Thanks guys! Yeah I just did that and the high speed and low speed canbus wires were switched, explaining the lack of lights!
