    Airport car?

I've been searching for a fun "airport car". My quest started with a VW GTI then to a Golf R, and to a S3. I'm not trying to be snotty and I realize that these are nice cars and maybe too nice to be airport cars but I refuse to drive boring cars. Life is too short, right?!
In my search, I've recently realized that the RS3 is coming to the states. Woohoo! I was hoping for the hatchback version but we aren't so lucky. Oh well....but the sedan version looks pretty good, IMO. So now I'm pretty set on the RS3 of course, pending a test drive. The exhaust on the RS3 sounds wickedly good-similar to an R8 IMHO. When a tune comes out (if not already), RS3 may even encroach RS7's "0-60 territory".
Anyways, I'm certainly stoked and am looking forward to its arrival. Anyone care to guess how much this thing will go for?

Maybe I'm out to lunch, but I've never heard the term "airport car" in my life. Is this for autocross, circuit etc. racing or what?

No prob... a car that is parked at the airport when one travels, in my case, for work.

Like you have a 2nd car for exclusively driving to the airport?! I'm confused, please explain..Do you live in the city and don't need a car but to drive out of the city to the airport? I think most would would use uber or taxi unless it's every week.. For business when I drive 2hrs to major airport I use a pool car/rental, when I fly out of small local airport I use personal car.

I'm planning on buying my "dream car" in the next couple of years and I won't park it at the airport. I want a second car (nice fun car like a RS/S3-not being snotty) so that I can park it at the airport for work. Without getting into details of my personal life, yes, I park at the airport quite frequently for my job. Uber, airporters, and cabs are not an option for me.

I'm the same way - too busy and too much going on to worry about if an Uber or taxi is going to show up on time to pick me up - or if their car is properly maintained and we break down on the way to airport - it's actually happened twice to me!!! No more! I drive myself and take out all those unknown variables plus my work pays for my airport parking - I use my own car. And after long trip, love getting my mind right by getting into my own comfortable car with my settings, tunes, etc and unwind on drive home.

I leave my personal car at the airport for the same reasons but just park in the back so I don't get songs but my local airport parking is very small and secure. This is a silly discussion because not many worry about parking their daily driver supercar at the airport. If your airport parking is skechy I would reccomend a more mainstream car, most common issue at airports is wheel theft. Honda accord > S3 on blocks when you arrive home..

I drive a Golf R as an "airport" car now lol. I would love an RS3 hatch but I'm not sold on a sedan. I owned a 2013 S4 which is why I wasn't thrilled with getting an S3 at what would have been 8 months after I traded in the S4.

Quest for a car is like that song with lyrics of, "can you take me higher.....". I think the RS3 sedan with lowering springs can look pretty good. I don't buy Audi's sales study regarding hatchback vs. sedan in the U.S. What a crock of crap. The RS/S3 would be the perfect hatch IMHO. The A4 Allroad looks like a station wagon to me. The 3 is perfect in length.
    Nice P-car btw!

I don't buy it either. I've really grown to like the hatchback and I love the Golf R. I don't know what I'll get next to be honest. Maybe more of a luxury car when the time comes but the nimbleness of the R is hard to not like.

911 wasn't always a dream car but it's great. I'll only get rid of it for a GT3...

B7 RS4 perhaps? Great looking car (although not a hatch) and a hell of a lot of fun (intoxicating V8 manual - although I'm a bit biased...) it would certainly be less expensive of car to park at the airport. but I'm with you on the RS3- fantastic car. I'm considering one myself. it is really disappointing that its not a hatch. That will likely keep me from pursuing one and heading into a 911.

on the pricing side - my wild ass guess is that Audi would want to be around the cost of the M2(53k) and the S3 is around 43k. but if the 5's are any indication: the S5 is around 52,500 the RS5 is 70,500. So that might put the RS3 more in the lower 60k range. But we'll see how competitive they want to be against the M2.

B7 RS4 is a sweet looking performance car indeed!
Though the price of the RS3 remains to be seen, I hope it's not anywhere near $60k starting price. It would not be wise for Audi since one can get a 3.0T A6 for that price. I may just end up with a Golf R or a low optioned S3 and spend the money on mods.

    I say Golf R.
It's fun and quietly styled enough that it wouldn't attract too much attention from thieves.
