How to align door after removal?

What are the tips or tricks to getting a rear door realigned after it has been removed?

Bolt it on then close it slowly. See how much of an adjustment it needs and loosen the bolts, have someone lift it slightly and bolt on tight. Repeat until it shuts perfectly. (Perfectly= U-bolt goes in straight into the middle of the lock.
