    instrument cluster swap? Possible, How?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have two b5 s4's and the one that I'm keeping's cluster is not good compared to the perfect cluster that I am keeping but I don't know how to set the correct mileage on them after swapping them and I have a working cable but I only have vcds lite and I want to know if it's possible to calibrate the mileage on my cars and if so how? The reason I really want to swap is because one of the clusters isn't missing a single pixel.

use "vag-commander", full name "VAG-K+CAN COMMANDER 2.5", at least that version floats around the internet for many years now and is capable of re-flashing clusters including mileage change to whatever you want.

Dah heck u talkin' bout' Willis?

That is exactly the way to do it, it says nothing about Immo defeat. But now that I read the original post I'm not 100% sure he'd be able to change the mileage with only the SKC. It's been too long for my brain to remember. But I think so...I don't even remember if B5 S4's had Immo, but if they did then it should work.

    For all:

North American B5 cars did not have immo.

ROW (rest of world) cars did.

Right... My whole point was that this is to defeat the immobo on a b6 so that user can perform tasks they would not otherwise be permitted to. The post mentioned immobo in a couple places which is actually a couple more times than "odometer" seeing as it never mentioned it.
