ok i am going to describe this best i can, i have a 2000 audi tt coupe 180 h.p model. 5 speed quattro. so when i got the car the key fob did not work. that is the first thing i noticed but as time went by i found more and more odd things, 2nd the interior lights and central locking only worked if one of the doors where open. you close the door the lock button did not work, or the lights for the mirrors or dome, but as long as one of the doors where open they worked fine. 3rd the lcd screen should show that one of the doors where open correct? because it dont... also the led lights on the door should only blink when the car is turned off and alarm is active. well they lights blink while the car is off or on. but if the door is open it dont. but if its closed they will constanly blink. so back to the key fob. i thought hey its broke or needs batterys. no big deal. but i went to my local autoparts store and they was able to test it for me. and its working puting out a signal. so i got on here and found out how to reprogram it to the car. so long story short once i got to the program part 1 key in on postion shut door and turn key in door for 10 sec it went into program. well once i hit unlock, lock the side marker lights flashed everytime i hit the button. but after they time was up i took the key out and tried the fob... and nothing.. so i know its synced to the car but its something else. so my guess it would have to be some sort of control modual some where.. i have searched for hours and can not find anybody with the same problem. so i hope someone can help me here. thanks

Central convenience module could have water in it. Typically found under the carpet in front of the driver's seat. Or it's just failing.

Find someone close by that has VCDS to scan your CCM. There should be codes populating that'll help give you an idea if the CCM is on the way out.

I think that is the problem. It's making a weird noise like it's shorting out when I close the doors. I ordered a used one. I'll keep the thread update
