    Audi emissions problems?

So I'm getting ready to get out of a diesel VW and have an A6 3.0 lined up. Can someone specify what model years are impacted by the recent 3.0 auto tranny emission scandal? I really don't want to go through another fiasco.

It is currently unclear what years are impacted. We are still waiting for an official announcement.

It looks like the lawsuits proposed last year, were probably due to some overzealous lawyers.

I think California was trying to regulate greenhouse gases, including C02, but I think that has not passed as law or is held up in the court system. California smog laws are generally the toughest in the USA.

    https://www.bar.ca.gov/FormsPubs/Fac..._Glossary.html
"Carbon Dioxide (CO2%): Carbon Dioxide is a colorless, odorless gas which is a byproduct of most combustion processes and also of human respiration. It is the same gas found in soda pop. High levels of CO2 in exhaust typically indicate greater engine efficiency; however, CO2 is considered a greenhouse gas that may cause global warming. High or low levels of carbon dioxide emissions are not grounds for a vehicle failing the Smog Check; the measurement is meant as a diagnostic tool for technicians. CO2 is measured in percent. "
