Avant Tailgate Question & Rear End Accident

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So got rear ended today most of the damage is located on the tailgate and some damage to the bumper. Its an B6 Audi S4 Avant. My question is are the B6 A4 Avants tailgate the same as an S4's and are interchangeable or are there some differences that wont allow fitment?
I know I cant do a B6 to B7 cause thats a whole different chassis.

If it does fit anyone have a tailgate they are selling?

There's no difference between the B6 S4 and A4 tailgates. They are exactly the same, just like all the rest of the body panels, and shell. Everything is interchangeable.

Ouch. That really sucks. Glad you're okay though.

If that bang had been any lower, it would have totalled your car, as the damage would have been tailgate, bumper, lower valance and trunk floor.

Unfortunately upon further investigation after I got a closer look.
So as seen in the pictures the tailgate and bumper are damaged.
Some exhaust I think but mostly from his paint.
New damage I found was the left rear quarter panel between the rear door and tailgate on the fender flare actually creased outwards due to the impact pushing it up.
Front bumper also got pushed in as it is now cutting into the headlight from me being pushed into the car in front. The other guy said no damage and drove off.

I really hope they don't call this a total loss.

Out of curiosity will the bumper off of an A4 S-line Sedan fit the Avant body?? The wrecking yard told me there was a difference between the Sedan version and the avant version and that it wouldn't fit.

    It won't fit.

Oddly enough, the Avant rear bumper has shorter sides than that of the Sedan.
