    Eurodyne Tuning - Reviews Wanted

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
For those of you running a Eurodyne ECU tune (and TCU tune if you have it), I would greatly appreciate some brief reviews from each of you. If possible, please post the following information:

    1) What stage tune you are running (1, 1.5, or 2).
    2) Which version of said tune it is.
    3) How long you have had the tune for.
    4) Your general opinion on the tune.
    5) Any other information you deem relevant.

I know this information is scattered all over this and the vwvortex forum, but I thought this might be a good way to get it all in one place. Thanks in advance.

Other than misfires 1 time my stage 2 has been great. I don't have the tcu tune. Been running it for about 9 months now. Updated to the v1.1 stage 2 93oct and the misfire never happened again. You can see a few pulls I did on my YouTube channel. Flash process takes a bit longer now. About 40 mins.

I've been running Stage 1.5 93 octane for about 350 miles and the TCU tune for about 300miles now (installed both about a week ago). Incredible power throughout the rpm range. TCU tune made a huge difference with handling the power in my mind. Shifts are a lot more direct. And did I mention the power is incredible. I would suggest getting the ECU and TCU tune together.

I have the Stage 2 : 91 octane tune. Initially, I had several misfires but they were resolved by the 1.2 flash. Pulls like a monster. I like it a lot. I don't have the TCU flash.

Thanks guys. It seems as though Eurodyne and APR are putting up similar numbers, which Eurodyne having the advantage of flash-from-home. I have a dealer nearby that sells APR, which gives me a bit of reassurance that they will take care of me should any warranty work need to be done. On the other hand, I'll still have to pay for every flash which could add up. I also don't know how long I'll continue to live where I do, and where I move next may not be anywhere near a dealer. Going to be a tough call. Thanks again for all the info.

I love the ability to flash at home and to be able to switch from programs for free. I started with stage 1.5 and loved it. Then I upgraded to stage 2 and in addition to the performance, my mpg's went up from 23mpg to 27 mpg average when I'm not crazy on the throttle. I'm planning on getting the tcu tune as well. Eurodyne s3 guys are putting down impressive numbers and times on the fb page. Personally I haven't had any misfires or any issues, but I've only hade it for 2-3k miles

I agree with TCHUN003. I am at Stage 1.5 now and don't plan to go Stage 2 anytime soon, but it's nice knowing I can do so at no additional charge (besides dp and intercooler). I was always worried about tuning the car myself and messing something up, but I can reassure you it is very simple and straight forward.

Same as most here, Stage 2 91 on latest version for about 400 miles so far. No TCU tune. I love it and haven't have any problems yet. *knocks on wood*

All good info, keep it coming. I've also perused the vwvortex forums for insights as well. Hoping to hear from a few more Eurodyne guys on this forum though.

ive been running both ecu and tcu since the car hit 600 miles. much more power and have not had any big issues with using both. this weekend i installed the 42 dollar dogbone mount from 034 and its made a world of difference. i suggest anyone with an a3 or s3 then the dogbone mount especially if you are tuned. very easy install and the car feels much more firm yet no vibrations at all. awesome product.

I first flashed stage 1, and loved it, but the opportunity to go to 1.5 was too great. After about 2 weeks, I flashed 1.5, and wasn't thrilled. Because it produces more power by adding more boost, there is a noticeably greater amount of turbo lag while that boost is building. While it was more powerful, I did not like driving it as much because of the increased lag. I absolutely love stage 1, and will be staying there until I get a DP to allow me to go stage 2.
At the same time as I flashed my first stage 1, I did the stage 1 TCU tune. The TCU tune did not make a very noticeable difference when driving in manual mode, which I use >90% of the time, but when in D, it was far more responsive to throttle inputs and just overall drove better.

I am very, very happy with my Eurodyne tunes, as I can change between them at will free of charge. Can't wait to try stage 2!

To those who have run, or are currently running stage 1.5, have any of you experienced the kind of turbo lag KevinM. has mentioned? Not doubting your experience KevinM. just trying to see if anyone else had a similar issue.

im running the stage 1.5 93 octane file and dont notice any appreciable lag along with the stage 1 tcu tune. my only other mods is a k&n air filter and the 034 motor sports dogbone insert. car has a lot of power and feels very planted.

I was on stage 1.5 with the stock intake, the above people have intake modifications which would surely help the lag "issue."
The 1.5 tune was not at all bad, I just prefered stage 1

Only 7 people on here running Eurodyne? There's got to be more people than that who can chime in here.
